Here's the deal with City Island: it's a remote, isolated place but rarely visited by Manhattanites. Even people from the Bronx rarely go there. But when you do go there, whether its to fish or just to hang out, you have to go to this place. The lobster is great, the beers are cold, and the people are amazing friendly.
What Great Place!!!!. WOW I really had the BEST time at this restaurant. I am in the business so you know it true. Our server "Antoinio" was attentive and really took care of us. He made my birthday special .All areas covered food, service, decor, price (worth it) Going for Thanksgiving!
City Islands Best all around restaurant. Wow! I struck gold when I went to this restaurant! A must go!!!! Not one bad meal in 16 visits taken guests all positive! Fresh food, excellent service, amazing portions, no wait, first restaurant on left after bridge. Enjoy guys! I never wrote a review till this one just had to tell people.
FANTASTIC.
From the moment you walk in you feel that the staff is really happy to see you. They treat everyone like family, especially if you ard dining with kids. The food is very fresh and the drinks are refreshing. I can't say enough about this restaurant except that I had dined in almost every other restaurant in City Island but for the past 4 years this is the only one that I now go to.
The only thing that I can say is that when spring/summer comes around I highly recommend dining on their waterfront deck. Sometimes there is a wait of around 1/2 hour for a table but it is well worth it.
Very overrated. I went with someone who saw an ad for the place on TV and was awed by the platters that were shown.. however, in reality, the plates were large but the portions skimpy. A lobster that was supposed to be a pound and a half appeared to be under a pound and my companions shrimp and prime rib combo was pricey, but only had 4 shrimp! Water glasses were not refilled and service was not great, however, our main waiter was friendly. Not worth the trip from anywhere.
