Totally Unskilled Labor.
The physical location was pleasant, but it was overshadowed by the poor service and sub-par food. The bill for one appetizer, 2 each beer and soda, and two entrees cost us just under $70. We wished we had spent this money elsewhere, namely at a fish market where we could get our own fish to cook at home.
Service issues:
-The waiter did not tell us about the specials. When asked, he said that we should have noticed them written on the board at the entrance next to the bathrooms. He finally told us.
-We had to remind the staff to bus our table. We were left with a stack of dirty appetizer/salad/bread plates as our entrees were served. The restaurant was almost empty!
- One entree came with a baked potato. It was served plain and the waiter didn't offer an accompaniment. When asked what came with the potato, the waiter said butter and sour cream. We asked for sour cream - which never came. Even when the waiter presented the check, the potato sat there uneaten. He was un-phased by this.
Food:
-The fried calamari appetizer was acceptable
-The entrees were both overcooked: One was a shrimp platter, the other was a broiled flounder made with frozen fish. It was dry and had a mild odor.
-The most inexcusable part of the meal was the filthy ketchup bottle. The cap was caked and blackened with old ketchup. Ketchup caps and bottles must be washed every night. This particular bottle had not seen soap nor water in days. This is a breeding ground for bacteria.
So disappointing!. I was quite disappointed in the service and in the food. The waiter was disinterested and slow. My husband and I both got steamed lobsters and they were over-steamed because they had completely no taste and were dry. For $30 for a 1-1/2 lb lobster and $50 for 2-1/2 lb, this dinner was not cheap. I expected the lobster to have some taste! On top of that, it took almost 45 minutes by the time the entree came, so by then I had lost my appetite. The restaurant also used to give you some tasty brochette when you sat down and the dinners used to come with salad, but they have taken out those items, but not reduced their prices in any way. It seems that if a place is going to take items that they used to serve out of the dinner, then they should justify that by making sure the food is prepared extremely well and that the service is outstanding. Our waiter could not care less about serving us or checking to see if were enjoying our meal. I will never go back there again. I don't want to spend my hard earned money on expensive bad food.
Best customer service and food. I love Lobsterbox! I had a family event planned at the last minute here. The food is always good & the service is given with a smile. Have the Lobster. It's what they are known for & you will know why when you taste it. They also do a wonderful steak and pasta. Make sure you get the cornbread it tastes like cake! Enjoy!
Seafood Dining Still Good. I have be there couple of times already taking my wife and friends and always did well there. Its always hit with the food and vallet parking is good. The crowd is mix, but never loud.
