Delicious Latino Food. If you enjoy latino food, you will enjoy the homemade style food this restaurant has to offer. The pork is too die for. I never find the food to be too greasy like other latino restaurants have. Great waiter service too.
BE Aware. The food is good, but a bit pricey!!! Especially if you have a family. One of the things that astonished me was they serve plastic not glassware!!! And, of course, they looked cloudy and worn!!! I have never been to a restaurant that doesn't serve glassware!!! The only way, I would go back there is, if they change glassware!!! Must give them three stars!!!
medicore service, good food. I wasn't sure how many stars to give this place because while the food was good, the service wasn't that great. Our waiter could have been much more attentive. So that kind of brought down the dining experience. But the food was good so it made up for it more or less. Prices could have been cheaper; it was kind of expensive for a place that was not in the city. So it could have been better, but it could have been worse.
Authentic Latin Cuisine. I have been to Joe's place numerous times, and even order take-out relatively often. The food is always good and the staff is great. This is homestyle latin cooking that is simply delicious and very flavorful. I recommend this place to everyone.
Bring Friends and Kick Back. I was invited to Joe's Place by the unofficial Mayor of the Bronx. The first thing that happened when I came in was Joe warmly welcomed me. The restaurant is sectioned - one section is for take out and fast counter dining, another section is for the bar flies, and the largest section is the dining room. The menu is huge and goes on for pages. All your favorites are here - arroz con pollo, pernil, chorizo. The chorizo in wine sauce was to die for. The roast pork, with rice and beans and fried plantains, was enough to feed a family of four. In fact, I took the remainder home with me and it did make next day's lunch for two! For dessert, try this pudding, translated Nipple of Venus. It's like a flan, but with flavored with anise. It looks like a woman's breast. Delicious!
