Amazing (and overwhelming) place. A giant loft space in an innocuous-looking old warehouse, on a minor thoroughfare in the middle of nowhere in Yonkers. It's not very pretty, but who cares?!? This is the kind of thing you can do with such cheap real estate... There's a small section in the front of "retail" costumes for the plebes, but if you're serious, the back has THOUSANDS OF SQUARE FEET of costumes, arranged by genre, period of history, color, and with all the right accessories. NOTE: Many of the outfits are old theatre costumes, so they're not as substantial as "real" clothes, but spend some time looking and you'll probably find what you're looking for...or maybe something you didn't imagine but which is ideal. I found an outfit for a friend which was stunningly perfect on her... Yon (the owner) and her staff are great, but cut them some slack and get there before 5:00 on October 31st.

I really don't get the complaint that they have "people's old clothes" because I don't know anyone who routinely wears Mardi Gras costumes, 17th century ruffles and suede coats, giant Gumby outfits, and light-up robot suits.

and....needles in the parking lot? Never seen that. What are you, projecting?

Great costumes, fair price, oustanding service. I needed a costume in a hurry, and Beyond Costumes had everything to make the event special, and at a reasonable price. The industrial venue is a little out-of-the-way, but easier/faster to get to by car than the midtown locations by subway. (I live in Upper Manhattan.) When I returned my costume, I spent some time browsing the collection for future possible needs. Their selection is HUGE! I also observed several customer interactions. The owner & the folks who work there couldn't be more professional or courteous. I don't rent costumes very often -- it's an expensive luxury -- but this was by far the best experience, and next time I need a costume, I am definitely going here.

Dirty clothes, expensive prices, bad location. I've been trying to rent from there a couple of times for my children's school but there's just no way. They have a lot of items there but all are dirty. I doubt they every clean anything right. The location is not safe, the first time I went there I was shocked to find needles and used 'male protection' products all over the parking lot which is right in front of the building. The building itself is horrible, old and unkept. The costumes are dusty from probably never being rented but the staff tries to charge a whole lot for each. Save your self the trouble and look somewhere else. Try buying online from someone else or go into the City. I had more luck there.

just bad. tried to rent from there this halloween with my wife. they got the same retail kind of stuff you can find online but sometimes they try to charge you twice the price. also the rental costumes are not costumes but peoples old clothes. Staff will charge you an arm and a leg for them though. also the place is very hard to find because it's in an unsafe warehouse and in a bad neighborhood. My wife and I left without renting anything.

Friendly knowledgable staff, great stock. The Beyond Costume team always bends over backwards to accommodate my needs. They are great to deal with for theatrical productions, with an incredible stock and good advisors about period dressing.
