best Italian rustic food. We visited Spiritoso last week and are we glad we did! We had the calamari ripieni, Fettucini with shrimps and the spaghetti with salmon. The food was extraordinarily delicious, the service was very attentive and the way they presented the food was magnificent. We will definitely go back to Spiritoso

Bad Service was just the begining. 7.30 we're seated as per our reservation,by 7.40 we'd ordered off to a great start , we thought so too......Finally after a half hour our salads arrived and they were average at best. Then at 9.30 after spending 20 mins trying to locate our waiter we asked where our entrees were only to be told that they had 2 parties in their function rooms and that we'd have to wait.....at 9.40 the entrees arrived everything came accompanied string beans and potatoes which firstly were not on the menu description and secondly were ice cold (leftovers from their parties...) then 1 of the steaks had to be sent back to be cooked as ordered and everything else was a slight variation on what it should have been not one of our 7 meals came as described on the menu, the pasta was overcooked and the service was awful.....and if that wasn't bad enough the check arrived with and 18 percent service charge.....18 percent for what? empty water glasses, dirty plates still on the table half an hour after we'd finished our salads, asking 3 times for a drinks and not knowing where our waiter was for the entire evening. This was not a pleasant evening at all.

Bad italian cuisine and service.. Aesthetically pleasing, offers valet service, coat check, and seems great from the door, but the food and service were the pits.

The waiter we had was slow, never checked to see how anything was and NEVER checked on our drinks.

For appetizers; hot antipasto, fried calamari, (2) pizzas. Calamari was cold and so rubbery it couldn't be chewed; actually one member of our party choked, that's how bad it was. The hot antipasto had more of the bad calamari, stuffed mushrooms that tasted awful a lot of breadcrumbs and nothing else. The mozzerella sticks were so overfried that there was no cheese left in them! The baked clams were merely littleneck clams topped with breadcrumbs and butter and broiled - no taste whatsoever. The eggplant rollatini was dry and tasteless; eggplant totally overcooked and mushy.

The pizzas were actually decent. We had a magarita pizza and a spicy one with pancetta. Both were very tasty. Nice thin crust and served hot; although a little burnt on the crust.

Then it took over 20 minutes for our entrees to arrive, so long we actually had to try to flag down the waiter to see what the problem was. When they finally did come, they were accompanied by a salad that was ordered as an appetizer and never delivered - even after the waiter asked if he should bring it with the other appetizers and the person said yes.

Our main entrees, also served cold, just added to the disappointment. The Petto di Pollo al Prosecco chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto and fontina in a prosecco wine sauce was as bland as can be the only flavor was the salt from the prosciutto and the sauce tasted like it came right out of a can. Veal Saltimbocca alla Romana, so tough it couldn't be cut, nonetheless chewed! Penne ala Vodka, nothing special at all; sauce too thick with cream it was dry.

The quality of the food and lack of good waitstaff make this a recipe for disaster. I would not recommend and will never go to this restaurant again.
