Good Irish Bar.
Usually I enjoy myself when going here but alot of the music on weekend nights make me wanna leave because is out of date or depressing or irish music. While the irish music is good during the day at night its good to hear more up beat contemporary music
Good place to grab a couple pints any night of the week though
Liveliest Irish Pub.
I've been going to rory dolan's for years for the night life and the food. The food there is really good. I work at a college that has an Irish Heritage event there annually (in the private party room.) The catering staff is very attentive and accomodating. The regular restaurant staff is terrific too.
After 11 the resaturant turns into a bar/pub. Thursday nights are usually pretty packed with a great mix of people from college kids to retirees. The bartenders are attentive and fast even when it gets crowded.
Great Local Bar. Rory Dolan's has always been a staple in my family. We go here for so many family events, and Rory Dolan's is always so accomodating! They have excellent food and friendly service. The bar is huge, which is a real plus. I could never imagine a place like that having anything smaller! The back room is great for private parties.
A Blue Collar Pub. This is really a great looking place. The food is good, the bartenders great and the drafts superb. It can get VERY crowded on the weekends and every other Thursday night (NYC workers paydays). A great mix of girls, Irish, cops and locals. Worth the trip north of the city line.
Irish Bar, NYC style. I'm not quite sure why Rory's is in the restaurant section. It does have good food, but it's really a bar/pub. The giant square bar takes up half the place. It's a great place to go to have a beer and meet people. Especially nice, unpretentious, working people. They have nights for teachers and nurses and nannies. This place is a great bar and it's huge.
