Tips for Manetta's Fine Foods

Two thumbs down. Over-priced. Sauce has no taste. No gluten-free menu. They offer one kind of gluten-free pasta. Ricotta was supposed to come on my pasta. Pasta came without it. Asked for Ricotta to put on top of it and then was charged for it!! Small portions. Left hungry. Never coming back and telliing everyone we know not to go.

Not good, really at all.. I went there after hearing how great it was. Wow. The bread was stale, the salad was overpriced and empty. The pasta was well cooked, didn't have enough sauce though or flavor. I though it was expensive and I prefer Bella Via just blocks away by far.

Great place for pasta and Chicken Parm. This is a gem in Long Island City. I just moved in down the block and will be eating at or taking out Manetta's at least once a week. Definitely try their chicken parm.

It's All Good. The cannoli person below should have stayed for the food. I eat here 2 times a week. The food is excellent and the service is great. The pizza ia among the best in NY. Read the NY Times review if you don't believe me. The desserts and pastas are all homemade. Try it, if ya' don't like it, go someplace else. But, I think you'll like it!

Really good food at a really good price. The food at Manetta is delicious, the home made pasta is perfect and the service is very good. Dining room is very open and can have the feeling of a function but otherwise very good

I heard the food was good but.... we never got a chance to eat it. We were seated promptly without given menus. After 15 minutes, it became clear that we were never going to be served (the wait staff passed us by and the waitress in our area stopped by other tables but not ours). Our seats were right by the manager and maitre 'd and they pretended not to notice us. I guess they're taking their reputation for granted and decided to ignore new customers who they do not know. We're highly dissatified and do not recommend this establishment to others.

Excellent, Authentic Italian!. Manetta's was a pleasure. The atmosphere is great for either a romantic dinner for two or a large group. Try the calamari appetizer; it is excellent. Their fresh pasta is all delicious, but nothing can beat their daily specials, which are invariably delicious!

Pastas, pizzas and tiramisu for business lunches and family dinners.. The Scene
The brightly lit dining room, with black metallic chairs and cookie-cutter Italian decor, may be short on charm, but the no-nonsense trattoria menu, and the friendly Manetta family who prepares and serves it, makes up for it in strides. On one side, cheese-and-dessert-stocked deli cases and a wood-fired pizza oven cater to a lively lunch crowd. On the other, families and groups of friends enjoy casual meals.

The Food
The Neapolitan-style pizzas--irregularly shaped, thin-crusted, char-crisped--are the main draw. Choose from more than dozen oversized personal pies, made with milky mozzarella and high-quality ingredients such as arugula, gorgonzola and prosciutto. Homemade pastas, like woodsy porcini pappardelle and a creamy four-cheese tagliatelle, are close seconds. Entrees are less exciting: The popular mixed grill holds chubby tenderloin, nondescript chicken breast and sweet sausage. Scooped tiramisu is worth the trip alone.

By far the best restaurant in the LONG ISLAND CITY area.. I've been eating at this restaurant for a long time and so far every dish i have tried has been a winner. The brick oven pizza's are in a league of their own, the pasta's are authentic Italian, and the various other entree's are as good as any upscale place in Manhattan. With their home-made desserts and a newly upgraded decor, I would highly reccomend Manetta's Ristorante to anyone looking for a lovely meal to enjoy with family or friends.

Chick Parms & deserts. If you need to get a chicken parm hero in LIC you've got to go here!! Biggest and tastiest parms around town.....perhaps a dollar overpriced, but worth it

I've had dinner here many times as well and all of the dinners have been very tasty. Pretty good wine list and the service is solid.

Save some room for any of the deserts---- I usually switch off between the Italian Ricotta cheese cake and the flourless choclate cake..
