The Scene
With Neil Diamond on the jukebox and Sanka to pair with dessert, no one's claiming this is the hippest joint in town. But that doesn't deter its steady stream of devoted regulars. Half restaurant, half bar and all around cozy, this place is staffed by lovely bartenders--made lovelier by their sassy Irish accents. The bar's especially welcoming in winter, when the wooden booths, Irish coffees and seasonal decor warm you like a pair of mittens.
The Draw
Pub-style starters like wings and potato skins complement a pint any time of day. And while the menu offers burgers, soups and salads, the Irish dishes beckon. Favorites are satisfying standbys like the mixed grill, fish and chips and meatloaf special. The shepherd's pie lacks a certain richness in its gravy and the bangers and mash could use a finer sausage, but who's complaining? The prices make it easy to eat, drink and be merry.

McReilly's is a great unassuming irish pub. Plenty of good ol' american food, as well as some irish standbys. I particularly enjoy their brunch, it's a great deal and the steak and eggs is amazing - 2 huge NY strips with the eggs and some of the best home fries around. The size of the menu is impressive considering the small size of their kitchen!

It's the neighborhood joint. Chances are, your pretty waitress is from Ireland and has a lovely accent, too. The food is good. The crabcakes and, oddly enough, if you get a choice of veg with your meal, the broccoli is always well-cooked. The mashed potatoes are fresh and garlicky, too.
