We liked it..!!.
We went for dinner on the grand opening night - and really enjoyed it. Mind you, we didn't know the Pinocchio before, but the owner (or we're assuming he was the owner) was super-nice and extra careful to ensure everything was perfect and everyone was happy. The food was good - they do have good pizza. Dessert was very good and all-in-all, it's a great deal and very conveniently located.
We'll definitely be back and would highly recommend it for a quick, inexpensive, solid meal.
Now Pinocchio has been renovated-an even better deal!!. Went to Pinocchio yesterday. It has been completely renovated, more hip, has a cafe menu too. The main menu is basically the same as before, with some additions. The food was, as usual, great. The pizza is awesome, the traditional greek food is always excellent. They have added desserts now. The cheesecake was incredible. The waitstaff is younger than before. Pinocchio was and still is a great value and, now that it is renovated, it has a cool ambiance. The outdoor seating looks like it will be terrific when the weather warms up. All in all, a great deal.
Great service and great food. Pinocchio's is an unexpected gem in the heart of Astoria. Amazing, authentic Greek food is served in a very charming restaurant which makes you feel like you've landed in the Greek isles. A wide variety of other mediterranean dishes are also available. To top it off, Pinocchio's has one of the most genuinely kind waiters in all of NYC, Nick, who will treat you like one of his family. A great choice for lunch or dinner!
Editorial Review. Brick oven pizzas, burritos and pastas supplement a traditional Greek menu at this Astoria restaurant.
One of the Best and Authentic. Don't go by the ambiance, or wait staff (this is Queens for crying out loud). The food is excellent. You're going there for the food!!! The best moussaka and beef gyros (be sure to order extra tzanziki sauce). Thin crust pita pizza's a really popular as well. Also, their half lemon chicken is to die for - juciest white meat imaginable. Try the a caral of their house wine to compliment the cuisine. I have been going to Pinocchio's for quiet some time now (about 2 years) and have always been happy with the food.
excellent pizza. these guys make fantastic european style pizza. thin, crispy crust, not overloaded with cheese, and not heavily sauced. delicious!
Don't waste your time. The servie here is terrible - and I've only gotten take out from them. I've ordered the exact same dishes on different days and they've never come the same way twice. But the service is the real problem as the staff always seems bothered that you are there if you're not speaking Greek. Don't waste your time.
