Overpriced junk

I stumbled into this place on my way to the park, and was pretty amused with their selection, but my jaw hit the floor when I saw the prices. (A 1988 poster from the calgary olympics in a seashell pink plastic frame... $125. 3 VHS set of john wayne movies... $18. )

If youre into kitsch and have a sense of irony as deep as your pockets; this is a nirvana. BUT, if you aren't insane, you'll immediately realize this store is a thrift store poorly passing itself off as an antique store. Try Second Best Thrift (near the N train) or even the Salvation Army off the R train. You may have to look harder, but you'll be able to make your dollar go infinitely further, and you'll be treated better.

• Cons: Laughable prices and dubious business practices

Hey now! This place has tons of used and refurbished antiques and wannabe antoques and lots of great, unique stuff...I have found some GREAT finds - I understand they import most of teh stuff from Central & SOuth Ameirca..Great wooden furniture from the 20s, 30s, 40, 50s and 60s - and even teh 80s...Some junk - but lots of great finds to give your apartment that unique look you wont find at mass market furniture stores like Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel or overpriced forged antique specialist ABC Carpet & Home..Im heading there today to find a patio table...

• Pros: great prices, nice , unique stuff
• Cons: It's a schlep, no subway nearby
