“the people who work there are very nice and welcoming.”
“even worth $25 but they made me pay the full price.”
you are absolutely right... vania is the best . she is the nicest stylist i ever went to. i went for color correction and she really corrected everything from the color to the cut. I am very happy i went there. this girl is awesome.
highly recommending vania of giorgios in whitestone.
If you want your hair done right you need to go to Vania
she really is very good. I met her in Christies she used to do my cut and style there, now she's in Giorgio's in whitestone were she does my color as well. This girl is great, she listens to what you want and does a great job. I showed her 2 pictures one for the color and the other of the hair cut I wanted. this girl is the best by far...
great place. i went to this salon to have my hair color and beatriz was the one who change my look, now i look more younger and my hair look nice
always pleased w/ giorgio's. i've been going to giorgio's for about 4 years and am always happy with how my hair turned out. regardless if i had gotten a full head dye, highlights or just cut & blowdry.. it always turns out EXACTLY how i wanted. the people who work there are very nice and welcoming. however, the person to definitely go to is LINDA. she always listens to what i want and incorporates her own style (which is impeccable). she's quick and efficient and always shows many different styles that can also look good. linda always cuts my hair in a way that always compliments my face shape. not only does she do a great job w/ cutting, she is hands down the best with coloring hair. you can definitely tell she knows what she's doing especially since my hair is veryyyy resistant to hair dye. my best friend was the one who suggested this place to me & said everyone there is very talented and i believe her 100%. so if you're looking for a great experience w/ your hair, i strongly suggest you try out giorgio's on steinway. and definitely ask for linda. she's the best!
Thrilled with the result........highly recommended. Since I moved to New York recently I didn't know where to do my hair so I went to one hair salon my friend recommended and it was Giorgio's. My friend also recommended to ask for Litsa so I did.I was very pleased with the result, she helped me choose a new color for my hair and she also suggested to add some highlights, my hair came out to look great. It was the first time I was totally satisfied with everything. Price was very resonable and I will definitely go back , that is why I recommend hair salon Giorgio's and Litsa to everyone!!!!!!
dedicated to our clients. I am one of the hair stylist at Giorgio's and would like to ask anyone who reads these past reviews not to judge all of us just because of one or two people. We are all dedicated and talented in our own way and we all work very hard to satisfy our clients. So please come and see us at Giorgio's-- you will not be sorry.
WORST COLOR AND CUT I EVER RECEIVED. THIS IS THE WORST HAIR PLACE I EVER WENT TO. Its an old-fashioned beauty parlor with old ladies who want their hair dyed one color and teased. And that?s about all the women who work here know how to do. They?re terrible colorists. They use cheap bad-smelling chemicals that produce brassy colors. And they don?t watch their clients hair because they?re too busy standing around gossiping (in other languages. Or sometimes in English. About their clients!). Tina (the woman who did my hair) was really unprofessional. I kept asking her to check my color while the dye was processing and she kept responding that it was fine. And each time she responded, she gave me a ?dirty? look. She has a really snotty ?attitude?. And her color job was dreadful. The color took in some places where my hair is very porous but it didn?t take in other places. So I ended up with dull brown hair with red streaks on the left side and brassy blonde streaks on the other. I told her I didn?t like it and I wanted her to fix it but she told me that she didn?t have enough time and that I would have to come back. And I would have to pay more money! And then she (or the salon) charged my $225. I argued with the receptionist that the dye job I got wasn?t even worth $25 but they made me pay the full price. What a rip-off. The place is old and filthy but they charge more than the salons in the city do DON?T GO THERE!
Talentless Stylists, Terible Service, Factory Atmosphere. I should have known something wasn?t right when I walked into this place and saw that it looked like a dumpy old "beauty parlor" with all the stylists packed in together in one run-down, dirty room. But I had to go to a wedding and I was desperate to get my roots colored and my highlights freshened. WHAT A MISTAKE! The stylist who worked on my hair clearly didn?t know what she was doing. She couldn?t figure out what color dye to use. And then she left the dye on too long, and it turned my light brown hair ?peroxide orange.? I freaked out. She tried to tone it down, but that didn?t help. When I got up to leave, I was crying but no one at the front desk cared. ALL THEY CARED ABOUT WAS MAKING SURE THAT THEY GOT THEIR $250 (for a single process and a few highlights!!!) The week after, everyone was asking me what had happened to my hair, and I got very depressed and upset. So I decided to go back and ask them to fix the color. The stylist said she would try, but she made it WORSE! Whatever she put on it burned all the curl out of it and made the color even drabber. And here?s the worst part: WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE, THE OWNER TOLD ME I HAD TO PAY ANOTHER $250 FOR ?COLOR CORRECTION.? I couldn?t believe it. heir stylist charged me $250 and did a terrible job and damaged my hair color and then they had the nerve to demand another $250 for her unsuccessful attempts to fix it. $500 FOR DESTROYING MY COLOR AND MY HAIR!! THIS WAS THE WORST SALON EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE AND THE WORST RIP-OFF! (And, to top it off, the STYLISTS talk about their clients behind their backs. While I was getting my hair fried, another stylist named Tina was standing near by and she started gossiping with my stylist about the client whose hair she had done. She went on and on about what a disgusting person the client was and she repeated just about everything that poor woman had told her. And she didn?t care who was listening to her ?trash? her own client.) I URGE YOU TO STAY AWAY.
These other people don't know what they're talking about!.
I don't know what these other people here are talking about....I've been a loyal customer of Giorgio's for more than five years now. In fact, my favorite stylist I can't livvve without IS Tina. She's the best at what she does and if you want the best job in the best amount of time and money, go to her at Giorgio's. I've been to other places where they sit you down, talk and talk and talk and you walk out with a crummy job. With Tina, eventhough she's busy always (a sign that she's the most awesome stylist in that place!), I come out looking like a million bucks. She knows just what color highlights I need and her cut and blow-dry is to die for!
Do not believe that she is miserable- in fact, she's the funniest one there. If you're in a talkative mood, she talks A LOT and if you're not, she's quiet and does her job splendidly nonetheless.
For a wonderful night on the town with your girls or guys, you need to go to Tina for the best treatment in the hair industry.
Incompetent, amateur stylists; Outrageous high prices. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SALON, with its incompetent amateur stylists and its ?Upper East Side Manhattan? prices! First, the stylists (Tina and Susan) couldn?t figure out what dye to use to make my hair the color I wanted. The one who decided to work on me (Susan) chose a dye that made my hair about six shades darker than the shade of brown I had requested. So then she had to use bleach to lighten my hair, which permanently damaged its texture. I wanted to leave, but she said that she would put in a few ?caramel? highlights to ?soften the harshness? (that she had created!). However, she didn?t have a clue about how long to leave the highlight dye on , so I ended up with straw yellow streaks. My hair is ruined: it?s dark brown and has seven or eight large streaks that look like yellow worms and that are so burned that they are splitting off mid-shaft. And the salon had the nerve to charge me $250 for this!! (And as if all of this wasn?t bad enough, the place is small and dirty and it smells.)
