Great place for a group!!. We were a party of 8 for my friends birthday. Luckily we made a reservation and were seated promptly. We ordered a bunch of different apps for the table. The crabcakes and zuchinni cakes were outstanding. The homemade bread served with olives is a great surprise. Its nice to see that this place makes their own bread. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. I had the lamb which was moist and flavorful. My girlfriend ordered the stuffed tilapia with crabmeat which was just perfect! The fish was flaky and the sauce had the perfect touch of lemony flavor. A great experience!!! They even let us bring our own cake and sang happy birthday to our friend. Overall, everything was great; food, service, ambiance and the complimentary after dinner drink topped it all off for me. 5 stars...Bravo!
GREAT PLACE FOR GREEK FOOD. I was there last week with some friends and we had an amazing time. The food was awesome.. it reminded me of my trip to Greece. The lamb and their seafood is a must try!!! The wait staff was very helpful with recommendations, and they were also very entertaining. I highly recommend this restaurant for authentic greek food and I'm definetly going there again =)
I was so dissapointed... The food was awful, the service ok... but not great.. we were the only ones in there and I guess that should have tipped me off... it was 200.00 very badly spent....
The Place to Be is Upstairs. Took a nice lady there on a first date and we had a fantastic time. The music was authentic Greek tunes, the food was great and we danced the night away. The place to be is upstairs. Only my second time there but it looks like they have regulars upstairs that come for the dancing. Had a great time.
Perfect Dishes.
My former boss's boss took me here for a celebratory lunch after my successful golf tournament fund-raising event. The only thing missing from a totally spectacular lunch was a nice glass of wine but we didn't drink much wine in the non-profit world... so we stuck with yummy iced tea!
Anyways, I especially loved the interior of this restaurant. It was so cozy and inviting! I'm glad we had a reservation because it was VERY busy at lunch time.
Our lunch was delicious! Everything was perfect starting with the bread. I don't know much about Greek food but was tempted by just about everything on the menu! I don't think you can go wrong with the super fresh veggies and perfect dishes!
really good baklava. I ate at this restaurant last Friday. In my opinion it was pretty good. There were so many appetizers to choose from. I couldn't decide between the Ouzo Shrimp and the Octopus, so I had both. They were so yummy. The Octopus was lemony with vinegar and the Ouzo shrimp was more on the sweet side. The leftover sauce went really well with all the bread I had. For the main course I had black pasta with shrimp and asparagus in a tomato sauce. I'm a huge fan of black pasta and you don't really find that in many restaurants around here so I was glad to have some. Along with all my food I had their Sangria. It was slamming. It was a little on the strong side but I can't complain there. To top things off they gave us complimentary Baklava. I LOVE Baklava. It was so good if I had any space left in my belly I would have ordered some more. If you are in the mood for Greek food this is a pretty good restaurant to try out.
A Great Gourmet Greek Dining Experience.
We were extremely satisfied with our meal at Mezzo. The restaurant is
lovely. The wait staff were remarkably friendly, and stand-out in my mind as
one of the nicest I have ever encountered. The food was very good,
particularly the octopus appetizer and Ek Mek dessert. We both agreed that
we would return to Mezzo, and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends.
BEST grilled octopus in the city. grab some friends, order a bunch of appetizers (make sure to get a few orders of the grilled octopus) and a few carafes of house wine, and enjoy yourself. i recently moved to LA and mezzo mezzo is one of the only NY restaurant i miss!
Amazing Authentic Greek Restaurant!. I absolutely love Mezzo Mezzo! It is truly an authentic restaurant--Greek staff & amazing food. The spanakopita (spinach pie) is really delicious, as is the salmon. I took the advice of the waiter to try the crab cakes (a Mezzo specialty) and I had to stop myself from eating all of them. My boyfriend & I sat outside, and we both agreed there is a really romantic ambience at night. This is not your ordinary Greek restaurant. They have weekly jazz, salsa, and acoustic entertainment upstairs in their gorgeous lounge, open 'til 1 or 2 AM. I have already dined there 3 times in the past month (once on a date, once for business, and once by myself!)-- I'm definitely a regular there! If you want delicious authentic food & cultural entertainment, this is a great place to go. Perfect for so many different occasions!
Not so much.... I use to love Mezzo when I first moved into the neighborhood and didn't know any better, but once I experienced other restaurants I knew this place wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Out door seating is cool, but the food is not great and it is a little pricey considering what your paying for. Not a favorite but good if you didn't make reservations and there is a line everywhere else.
