Editorial Review for Taverna Kyclades – by Justin Hartung
In Short
With its bright blue awning and dolphin logo, this Astoria taverna keeps the focus on the sea. Inside, nautical equipment and a swordfish hang on the brick walls, and windows swing open in the summer to encourage an ocean-like breeze. Landlubbers get some love in the form of pan-fried cheese, lamb chops and grilled quail, but water-dwellers get the spotlight in dishes like baby shark with garlic dip, grilled or fried sardines and clams stuffed with crabmeat.
