I've been highlighting my hair for about two decades now and have so many various strands of hair in so many different colors. Since I've been going to Manny for the past 4-5 years, he's been taking great care to make my hair softer and shinier every time I see him. I get highlights, lowlights, and a cut every time I go to Space and always feel like a brand new person when i leave! Lots of people comment on how awesome my hair looks and ask me who does my hair....so if you're looking for a stylist who will give you a hair style to die for, go see Manny!

Stella is amazing. For twenty-five years, I've been searching for a stylist who can style short hair. After being disappointed over and over again, I finally found her! She is the only stylist I've ever met who can cut hair so that, even when it's growing out, it looks salon fresh. She's also super friendly and I look forward to spending time talking with her when I go there. No on else will ever touch my hair again. I highly recommend her!

I've been going to this salon for about 15 years...and even though I now live in Westchester I STILL make the trip there. Prices are affordable (especially when compared to Manhattan), staff is friendly, the place is clean and has a comfortable/relaxing atmosphere. Plus I have the best hair stylist - Stella - amazing cuts and coloring, would highly recommend her!!!!!

I was there yesterday and had a haircut from Adela. She was simply amazing. I was thinking about some long bangs and shortening the layers and making them even and Adela did a great job. She even suggested to cut the bangs shorter and they look so flattering now to my face! I'm used to keeping my hair in a ballerina bun, but not anymore. I'm extremely happy with my new haircut and cannot recommend Adela enough!

I am very picky with who cuts my curly hair. Ever since I found Stella, I refuse to go to anybody else. I have been coming here for over 5 years, and she has been through every single one of my fads, from color to highlights, straight hair, curly hair, long and short. Every time I leave, I am very satisfied . Stella is an artist, plain and simple.

I would recommend that if you want great color you go see Christine. She does an excellent job. She listens to what you want and I have never been disappointed. My hair looks great and I get lots of compliments.

One of NYC's finest salons. I've been meaning to write this for some time, as I know people who are pleased with results are not as likely to write a review as someone who's disappointed. But I tell everyone I know who lives in the New York CIty area, if you need your hair styled, cut, or fixed, go to Space.

I'm not a particularly high-maintenance person, and I don't have a particularly difficult head of hair to work with. I don't color my hair, and I'm open to trying new styles every so often. Yet, for some reason, I'm rarely pleased with the outcome of a haircut that I pay for (meaning, I usually end up making corrections on myself which come out, in my opinion, better than the $60+ haircut I paid for). A friend of mine, also a new mom, had a really simple, stylish do, and I asked her where she went. She directed me to Space, and told me to ask for Edna.

WELL! I DID ask for Edna, and the haircut she gave me was probably the first that I felt like I didn't have to correct. I really liked it, and so did many of my friends.

I think Edna's cut my hair once more since then, but because my ability to schedule a haircut is somewhat spontaneous (due to the demands of husband, toddler and job), and because SHE is in pretty high demand, I've also accepted another stylist in her place on two occasions. The first time I had Stella.

WELL AGAIN! The haircut by Stella was right on par with the one from Edna. Compliments abounded. That was maybe 8 months ago.

Since then I've moved, and I had my hair cut in a high-end salon in my new town. It didn't go so well.

I put up with the new cut for about 2 weeks, and then this past Tuesday, I had to come into the city for an errand. So I took the train out to Ditmars, calling on the way to ask for Edna or Stella. No such luck, they said, but Catherine was available. So I booked her.

WELL! This time, I was aiming for a shorter cut with bangs, to salvage what I thought was damaged by the recent haircut at the new salon. In about 5 minutes of cutting, she completely fixed what the other salon did. So she blew my hair dry, and charged me about $15 less than what I was quoted, which was about $25 less than what I was charged for the botched haircut.

And, not only did friends and coworkers notice, my HUSBAND said, 'you know, that is a really good look on you.' I'm sure some of you can empathize, most of the time these guys don't even notice!

So yes, a big 5 stars each for Edna, Stella, and Catherine, and the rest of the crew at Space Salon! I'm afraid to go anywhere else, having been to them!

Great facial - thanks Lucy!!!. Went to SPAce for a facial. Lucy made me feel comfortable and I really enjoyed the experience.

She is very professional and will surely use her again and again. SPAce is a pleasant place to be. Thank you Lucy!!!

Im the Pickiest Person Alive. This place is hands down, THE BEST. I have gorgeous thick, long, black hair. And I am very picky about where I go to get a cut. I usually go to Christie's, but they told me highlights were going to be $225.

I usually ignore attitude, price, or atmosphere as long as im happy with my hair. But I wanted to find someone who was excellent with highlights, as this is my first time coloring at all!! Honestly, Space has it all- professional, courteous, great prices, nice atmosphere, & talent. No kidding.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the receptionist then the owner (who took my jacket), helped me look for hair colors on his ipad & sat with me to do it! 2 minutes later my stylist Adela, came by and sed she wud be a few mins behind, but offered my refreshments.

I looked up salons on google, which led me to this salon. Thats the only reason I visited Space- so I figured I should return the favor for other girls/guys scouring the earth to find an amazing stylist. I NEVER leave reviews online, not to mention this is after immediately getting home from the place of service.

Now, my highlights look beautiful and hair is soft, compliments my complexion. As for the haircut- u know how u can tell a good haircut when ur doing hair urself? I came home to blow dry it out ( i opted not to do it there cuz it was already raining) and the layers of my hair were completely even and fell around my face nicely and neatly.

Side note: its my birthday and I couldnt be happier about this gift to myself! Even though my BF paid for it, the wash, cut, blow dry, highlights total was less than $200 after tax and tips! Talk about adding icing on the cake!
