Charles Florals - Not up to par..
Words cannot describe the utter disappointment my bride and I felt on my wedding day upon seeing the poor quality of work that Charles Florals put into our floral arrangement. We contracted Charles Florals located in Astoria, NY to provide table settings and the ceremony archway for our wedding at a reception hall in June of 2010 at a cost of approximately $1,600.00. At our final consultation five days before the wedding with Ivie from Charles Florals, we were told that the first three arches of the ceremony archway would be covered with flowers and that tulle will be hanging between the additional arches. We were also told that the flowers used on the arches would be white flowers with a touch of pink roses. Ivie also stated that she would be there at the start of the ceremony to put rose petals out on the runner.
About forty-five minutes before the ceremony, we arrived at our reception hall, where the ceremony was taking place, to discover the poor quality of work. The archway for the ceremony was not done up like we had discussed with Ivie, the arch work done was not what we requested and was just filled with a whole lot of green leaves instead of "white flowers with a hint of pink roses" which we had requested. The tulle was poorly hung and falling down by the time the ceremony was about to begin. The metal arches that were to be covered with hung tulles were obviously standing out in the background of our ceremony place.
In addition, the wedding reception centerpieces were not done as nice as the sample one that was prepared for us prior to the contract signed. Unlike that sample one, the centerpieces had too many green leaves in them. The bouquets for the bridesmaids were a mere bundle of white flowers with just a few bunches, which began to wilt and die by the afternoon.
Last, but not least, the rose petals were left in a plastic bag, and we had to ask someone from the reception place to put out on the runner because Ivie was not there to complete her job.
If you are planning a wedding or any event that matters to you, then we urge you to consider using a different florist than Charles Florals (Astoria, Queens). If you are interested in seeing pictures of the work that Charles Florals performed, then send me an e-mail (gtm0107@gmail). I can e-mail you the pictures.
Sincerely,
A very upset wedding couple!
