The Scene – This the place for brides who started dreaming about their wedding when they were little girls. Middle-aged bridal consultants adorned in loud jewelry float effortlessly from bride to bride in this pastel palace of gauze and glamour. Professional to the point of pushiness and gushy, the consultants have a winsome way of adopting their clients. With praise this indulgent and advice this heartfelt, it's hard to leave the store without wanting to invite the staff to your wedding. – – The Goods – Every type of dress is represented: traditional gowns that will…

HORRIBLE!
by rinS
bought a Jim Hjelm gown from a retailer who had been in business for over 40 years, Kleinfelds. We paid thousands of dollars for a "designer" dress as well as an alteration fee for their tailoring expertise. We expected first quality designer item and ended up with a dress whose zipper broke 30 seconds after putting on the dress.
I had my last fitting where the seamstress had a hard time zippering the dress. I asked her if there was an issue with the zipper and she said no - assuring us that every thing is perfect and that since the dress is altered to be fitted to the body it was just hard for her to maneuver the zipper since it was a small piece.
We picked up the dress which was stuffed with tissue paper and that's how it was transported for the wedding ceremony. The dress was not touched until the time it was put on to where my nightmare watching the zipper come apart began. An hour late to the church and $300 later, I was sewed into my dress by a local cleaners, but cleary could see the uneveness and damage, not to mention the embarassment of showing up an hour late to the church!
We paid for alterations at Kleinfelds and expected 1st quality alterations by experienced staff - they were the experts on whom we relied and to whom we paid for their services. I as a consumer expected the dress to be first quality and usable for the occasion for which it was bought. I did not expect trauma on a day which should have been care free and to hassle in locating a tailor to come and sew me into my dress.
Kleinfelds offered to pick up the dress, reimburse us for the tailor and to preserve it for me. FOR WHAT?? I need it on my wedding day, not after!! That is not acceptable. We did not get the 1st quality product we paid for and this was a one time only dress, what will I do with it now??!?
I am shocked at their lack of response and attitude towards this and the ruining of a day which should have been perfect. I contacted them and it takes them days if not weeks to call me back. I leave messages, nothing.
I am now going through my credit card for a full refund. This place is a joke....they only care about their show and the "stars" that work there now....if you want true customer service you are better off with a smaller retailer that will provide you with true customer service and not the run around.
Say "NO" and don't go!!!!

YOUR overall rating system in inaccurate!
Out of 90 reviews, over 33% are very negative and if you weight the "1" scores, this place should get an overall score of ....maybe 3 stars most.
TV fame has gone to their heads. These "celeb-u-brats" think they should walk the red carpet.
I walked in and I thought I was at a funeral home. Everyone in black, not a smile, I was looking for the casket.
I asked 3 times to see my favorite designer and it WAS NOT PARNOVIAS yet they kept on bringing me these down market type gowns hyping them as if they were getting extra money to sell them, or maybe they own the company, i don't know.
Klienfeld is "Klien-Fall" since they have gotten a bigger head than a bigger heart. And stop with the damn sale rack in the back hall of the store. That's where I found the casket. Dead wedding gowns......Going to find another bridal shop. Any suggestions girlfriends?
Do they even read these reviews? Obviously not.
Kleinfeld's was Incredible!!!!!!!

Wow, what an experience! I had an appointment on 02/20/12 for their sample sale. I was met by Erika who right from the start was very sweet and caring. She asked me about my big day, what I was looking for and immediately got to business. I did not feel rushed at all. I showed her my top 5 and she instructed me and my girls to go check out the dresses either on the sale rack or anywhere else while she tried to find the dresses I brought with me. We looked for a few minutes and she had us go back to the dressing room.
I tried on a variety of dresses to make sure I was not missing out on any type of design or color. There were 2 I really liked, and one that I liked only the top part. So, she went out and found a dress that had every element of the dresses that I loved. She had asked my budget which I said was $2000 and brought in a dress that was slightly over at $2500, as soon as I put on the dress I knew it was the one. It was stunning and was everything I had hoped for. She was so excited when I told her I wanted it, she gave me a big hug.
I was as skeptical about this place as anyone else due to some shaky reviews about rude staff or snobby comments about budgets being too low. But I have to say I had an amazing experience and I can thank Erika for that. I can't wait to get my dress in!!!
Full Figured Women....DON"T
by NLP26
To all full figured women,
Please do not go to Kleinfeld thinking they have fashion forward dresses in larger sizes. I am a 16/18 and was treated like a second class citizen. I wanted a fashion forward dress in a material other than satin. Camille brought in two dresses and then sent me to a small back room to look through the plus sized dresses. The dresses were old fashioned and dowdy. The dresses were also so worn that part were fraying and I was told to use my imagination. The total appointment lasted 20 minutes. Now for the good news; full figured brides need to go to Curvaceous Couture in Columbia MD. A store made for the curvier bride. You are treated great! I tried on about 15-18 dresses most of which were actually too big for me and they have all the newest styles. Fly into Baltimore and Columbia is right around the corner.
Do not believe the HYPE about KLEINFELD, you will be disappointed.
Overpriced!!
by christmastree123
Kleinfeld's has a terrific selection so go there to try on dresses and see what you want BUT DO NOT BUY THAT DAY!! They will tell you, you have to buy that day or you won't get your dress in on time but don't fall for it. I had two other appts scheduled so I didn't buy. Thank goodness!! I found the same dress, same designer for over $1000 less on a $3300 (K's price) dress. I also found out that the dress takes 4 months not 6, like I was told there. The markup on wedding dresses varies and is huge. Google it.
If you can't find your dress elsewhere, just make another appt there.
