Editorial Review for Turkey's Nest – by Charles D. Gray
In Short
When droves of hip East Village expatriates decided to cut their rent bills in half by moving to Williamsburg, the native element withdrew a little north. The neighborhood's last pure Brooklyn dive is the Turkey's Nest, where the jukebox blares loud classic rock and there's always a pool game in progress. It's a blue-collar crowd, partying with pride and taking part in the the state lottery's most effective red herring, Quickdraw.

Well... the last part of that is not true. You might feel bad about yourself the next morning but the bar has nothing to do with it. I spent my last birthday there. I had fun with my roomate and met some people that were freaky. The firttime there I saw while walking there a bowjb in progress across the street at the baseball field. and there was a lady of the night playing pool with a gigantic mole or boil on her asscrack. other then that it was a great place to get cheap drinks, a load of fun and, many visuals of the gritty side of life to carry me though the autumn nights.
Pros: watch oral across the street
Cons: G train

This place is as divey as it gets in a "hipster" neighborhood. The Citysearch writer wrote that this place is the "last dive" in the hood. NO way.. haven't they been to the Greenpoint Tavern 5 blocks away? Anyway... cheap beer... weird characters abound including gambling hasidic Jewish guys and drunken firemen.
Pros: cheap, close to L, pinball
Cons: stinky bathroom, intimidating drunks, styrofoam cups
