Editorial Review for Teddy's Bar and Grill – by Rebecca Braverman
The Scene
Teddy's dates back to the turn of the century, when loft spaces were still factories and nary a pair of math rocker glasses could be found on the streets. Outside, cheerful tin lanterns hang underneath the awnings, illuminating summer's outdoor drinkers. A step inside finds all the trimmings: A sturdy wooden bar filled with budding hipsters and old guys sitting side by side, an intricate pressed-tin ceiling and light fixtures older than your grandma.
The Draw
The stained-glass sign outside advertises a long-gone ale--Peter Doelger's Extra Beer--but fret not, Teddy's is sure to have your brew of choice, in addition to disarmingly hip selections like caipirinhas and frozen cosmos. Settle in for well-executed bar bites (enormous burgers, crunchy buffalo wings) or a surprisingly tasty apple crisp, topped with heaping scoops of ice cream.

Teddy's food is pretty good.. But the service is the WORST I have ever seen. I am not saying this because I've been there once and had a bad experience but I have been there several times and had a bad taste in my mouth from the servers on several occasions.. Most of them have major attitudes, like I should be glad that they are there to serve me.. They take the order and then you have to wait so long for the drinks.. Forget about ordering another one cause you'll be finished with your food by the time it arrives to you, with another attitude.. We ordered burgers they didn't give ketchup and then when we asked she rolled her eyes.. No one even came over once to ask how our meal was or if we needed anything and it wasn't even busy?? The bartender was crazy and on occasion burst out singing out of nowhere, she was annoying and loud and we had to talk louder because she was so over bearing.. Def not going back there they're a bunch of "real winners" there and I'd rather give a tip to someone who deserves it! P.S. I'm a waitress also so I know how overwhelmed and all you can become when it's busy and all but most times it's not considered busy enough for the laskluster service we have received on several ocassions..
Pros: burgers
Cons: Nutjob wait staff

I've been going to Teddy's for a few years now and even though we've had our ups and downs, it's my favorite place to go to in the Greenpoint/Williamsburg area. I recommend getting a nice local brew (brooklyn or bluepoint), a platter of wings, and the nachos supreme. Make sure you go with a few people and hope that they never release any sort of caloric information for the dishes.
Pros: Beer and wings...what more do you need?
Cons: Hipsters from Wisconsin
