Editorial Review for Farrell's Bar – by Lisa Marie Rovito
The Scene
Little seems to have changed since the Farrell family established this landmark bar in 1933. A cracking tile floor, a poker-faced Irish bartender and a long line of cops, firefighters and construction workers leaning their rough elbows on the bar (no stools here) are all integral parts of a neighborhood tradition. Enjoy the coldest Bud in town--the bar packs the tap in ice. As the only draft beer, it's served in a 32-ounce, 7-Eleven-esque Styrofoam beast that suspiciously resembles a to-go cup.
The Draw
Women were spurned from the scene until the early '70s, and even now, most guys will leave the little lady at home. "Nice f--kin' pass," hollered Brooklyn-style during the fourth-quarter isn't exactly romantic. A gruff rumble of conversation and a ship's-wheel chandelier are the absolute extent of decor and atmosphere.

Know Before You GoThe bar is a convenient stop before or after a movie at the Pavilion.
Save MoneyAn old local move is to drink first at Farrell's on the cheap before heading into the city.

The reviewer below is nuts!! If you like beer.. I mean really like beer... This is the place for you. If you don't really like beer ... and never had a big taste for it... This place is for you. YOU WILL NEVER have a tap Bud like this ever again... unless you order another. and then another. Like they say.... If Budweiser is the King of beers --- Then Farrell's is the Palace! The reviewer below... doesn't like anyplace thay have been out to. crazy right?
Pros: bud... ice cold.
Cons: there is only one.

The people that reviewed this place obviously don't live near it. The crowd is disgusting, loud, and can be seen spilling out on to the sidewalk with their enormous styrofoam cups of beer. However, if you want a place that will give you a huge beer with a lid and straw so you can get behind the wheel of your car that's parked in front of the fire hydrant across the street and drive home, this is the place for you!!! I'd love to see it close.
Pros: none
Cons: too many to list
