Extremely rude and greedy staff

by jyojyo

I went there with my 4 year old one. we had soup and a appetizer. The bill came to $9 for which i placed a $10 bill and walked off. The waiter came to call me back saying the tip wasn't enough. I was so embarassed and had to go back just to give them some more tip.I always believed tip was a gesture of the customer but was shocked to know that in this restaurant they believe that they have the right to demand it from the customer. I would never ever go back to that restaurant.Happy Buddha in Flushing gives a much better experience.

Bad customer service, and ripped off pricing food.

by tylin123

Had a family dinner there, and the management made a mistake on the size of our order of the soup.

Small size $25, Med. size $35. We had 9 people, and ordered medium size, thinking that it should be a great tasting soup to try. End up, we got charged $65 dollar.... for the soup. Can you believe this??

Went back and spoke to the cashier manager lady, and she said we had the Large order of Soup??? We said we ordered the medium size, should be $35.

Then she told the waitress that took our order to investigate the confusion, and she confirmed that we did ordered the medium size, end up it was the Chief that made the mistake by giving us the wrong size order? So the poor waitress, felt bad for the chief owner's mistake, and was willing to pay for the differences.. Of course, we didn't want the poor waitress to get stuck with differences, so we insisted with the cashier manger lady that it was their own fault for serving us the larger, or extra large size of soup, and she didn't even care of what my argument was, and that it makes no sense for any restaurant to charge the customer any price for their mistakes.... Especially a 65 dollar soup?? Its a Vegetarian soup for cry out loud?

So people, if you ever go there to eat, PLEASE make sure you inquire about their prices first, then when the order comes, make sure you ordered what you paid for. Because in our case, we took the bullet for the poor waitress. This is clearly the restaurant's fault, but they didn't care of risking loosing future customers, but I guess we were stupid enough to try a soup thats 35 dollars?? BUT I would never ever go back there again for vegetarian or Kosher meals. This restaurant is a total ripped off, and I hope my incident will never happened to anyone.

  • Pros: Near by where we live, but will never go there again.
  • Cons: Bad management, and very poor customer services, they charge whatever they want.

Delicious

Simply put: The food here is great! I rarely go to vegetarian restaurants but whenever my friend?s want to try one, I suggest Buddah Bodia. Meat and veggie lovers will love this place since most of their imitation meat dishes really take like meat. In my opinion, the roast pork is the best here. They really taste like traditional Hong Kong style roast pork. The dim sum is great too. If you can get up that early (which I rarely can) give it a try. I promise you?ll enjoy it.

  • Pros: Excellent food
  • Cons: Need more parking

Best buddhist vegetarian dishes in NYC

by zorgclyde

This place serves by far the best buddhist vegetarian dishes, especially if you're looking for dim sum. We love the rice in lotus leave, the beef chow fun, and the ribs. Skip the chow mein. The traditional menu is great, and the more creative dishes are hit or miss. Service is decent, I only met 1 bad staff of all the times I've visited. Price is expensive for Flushing but good value for this type of cuisine. They offer Kosher too.

  • Pros: Food, Selection
  • Cons: price?
