“Great location - just seconds from the Cross Island Parkway, Whitestone Bridge, exit off of the Whitestone Pkwy / Van Wyck Expwy.”
“The beer was so flat we had to ask to have the charge taken off of our tab.”
“We believe that they ran out of cheese and poured some weird liquid on the pasta.”
“In fact, we agreed that for such a nice looking place, the service and food truly was more of a poorly managed, lousy cooking, soon to be out of business mom and pop shop.”
“The food was expensive and the service was ho-hum.”
“Not the worst dinner you could have but at the price not really worth it.”
Just Plain Bad. Our server, a nice guy, was just poorly traind in basic service skills. Our pasta dish was over cooked, soup was very salty with too much cheese, chicken was cardboard, ribs also over cooked. The only good meal was my fathers prime rib. we had to ask for our dinner bread and waited a long time for our water. And, the place was empty.
over priced drinks. I ordered a drink margarieta which previously in another boulder creek I paid 8.00 for this boulder creek was 13.00. This was college point Queens not Manhattan. The steak my son ordered for 28.00 was not worth it full of fat, the next day my dog did enjoy it and didn't complain about the fat. Service was Good !! Food was not.
This Is The Worst Place To Eat...Total Waste of Money.
Terrible Place. Went there with fiance after seeing it while shopping at Target, and regret it completely. The hostess was nice, but we couldn't believe that she would actually consider sitting us near the loud drunks sitting at the bar.
After requesting to sit away from the bar, we were taken to a dirty table, which was cleaned by what seemed to be a very busy lady. Our waitress took our drink order, and received the drinks from the busy lady that cleaned our table. My fiances soda was flat, and my pineapple juice was warm-no ice.
We ordered stuffed potato skins (terrible). She ordered ribs, the ribs came alone on the plate, no sides. I had a rib sandwich with mac & cheese. The sandwich was very dry, and the mac & cheese was weird. We believe that they ran out of cheese and poured some weird liquid on the pasta. It was terrible, and a waste of money.
We would never go back there. In fact, we agreed that for such a nice looking place, the service and food truly was more of a poorly managed, lousy cooking, soon to be out of business mom and pop shop.
If you're considering eating there, don't. You're better off just eating paper. Trust this post. And I gave 1 star in this rating only because ratings are required. I would prefer to give it 2 thumbs down.
Boulder Creek is a Boulder Disappointment. I had never been to a Boulder Creek before, but when I was shopping recently at the College Point shopping center I saw it and figured I would give it a try. BAD IDEA! Things started off fine. I came in on a Thursday evening and the bar was roaring. I paid no mind to it, and since there was no wait and the place was pretty empty I asked if I could sit furthest away from the bar. I soon realized that even the furthest point was still not far enough. We were sat at a dirt table, but a gentleman was "nice enough" to clean it for us as he rolled his eyes. The waitress was friendly, but she barely did anything and was never around. Someone else brought us our food and drinks, and the waitress only came around to drop off the check. Not good service at all! The prices were crazy! I ordered crab cakes for $10+, not realizing they were going to be bite sized. Then for entrees (which took forever to come out), one of my friend's steak came out over cooked. It was a slow night, and still somehow a medium steak turned out well done. I ordered their chicken and shrimp pasta, and the pasta was grossly under cooked, and the chicken tasted like it had been sitting there for a while. We passed on dessert and was brought the check only to find out that my bottle of Heineken cost $7. I can buy a case for a couple of dollars more at the Waldbaums next door. The bill was high (an appetizer, a small steak, pasta, and a hamburger cost, two sodas and a bottle of beer = $96) , but after looking at the menu before ordering I figured it would be high. I am just not the type of person to get up and leave after being sat at a table. My overall verdict - avoid Boulder Creek. It's not worth the money, the food is bad, the service is terrible, it is too noisy, and the manager who dropped off the "re-made" steak was unapologetic and rude. I was better off at the McDonalds across the parking lot.
expensive mediocre food. The restaurant has recently changed and all the prices have been raised and the food is the same. Very annoying servers bother you all the time asking you if you need ketchup(which is not on the table). appetizers are 10+ and entrees are 20+. The food is not bad but 50/50 whether or not your steak is cooked right. Not the worst dinner you could have but at the price not really worth it.
Flat beer, bad soup, icky steak, poor corporate service.
Bad, bad food.
We've eaten at this restaurant a couple of times, always hoping it will get better the next time. On a whole, we've repeatedly gotten flat bear, greasy steak, and gross soup. We once ordered steak, onion soup, and beer. The beer was so flat we had to ask to have the charge taken off of our tab. The "steamed" side vegetables next to the steak were still frozen. And before we ordered, I asked the server if the onion soup had croutons, or just a big piece of bread floating in it. I was told that it has "bread pieces." I ordered the soup, complete with big floating piece of bread. Very disappointing. On top of it all, I wrote a comment on the Boulder Creek website mentioning the disappointing experience, and we never received a response. Save your money, go to Applebees or anywhere else.
Cheap Steak. Well, the table was so sticky when we first sat down that the skin on my arms burned after i lifted them off of the table. I asked that it be cleaned, and it was, by a very adorable 16 year old with a sponge. Other than that, our waitor looked and spoke like an ex-convict, everything was dry and overcooked, and they never gave us our salads. The waitor came by and said "more drinks?" we smiled yes, and before we could answer he flew off and ordered us another round of what we were having, when half of us at the table wanted something else. Skip it, spring for a real steakhouse...not Mcdonalds dressed up.
bad food. Very bad steak, these people do not know how to cook a steak. Save your money and spend it elsewhere. Mcdonalds taste better.
Great Food, Great Atmosphere.
I love this steakhouse. The prices are very reasonable, and the service is very courteous. Unfortunately the weekends it tends to get busy. But now they have a call ahead service to minimize you wait time.
The food is excellent, the prices are reasonable.
Great location - just seconds from the Cross Island Parkway, Whitestone Bridge, exit off of the Whitestone Pkwy / Van Wyck Expwy.
Not So Horrible. This steakhouse is not so shabby. The service is probably its best quality. The food is not five star but the prices reflect that. I've been to the Outback and I thought they were comparable to Boulder Creek except Outback prices were through the roof. If your looking for a high priced steak with high expectations this may not be the place for you. If you venture into Boulder Creek you will get great service and a decent meal (not the worst you can find but not the very best you can find). The place is family oriented and is crowded on weekends; weekdays it is more quiet.
