Editorial Review for Clearview Golf Course – by Citysearch Staff
The Course
Built in 1930, Clearwater Golf Course provides challenges for both beginning and advanced players. The varied terrain is fairly wide open and flat, with rolling fairways, deep bunkers and beautiful views of the Throgs Neck Bridge and City Island. Water hazards come into play on two holes, particularly the fourth. This signature hole requires a tee shot over the water.
The Experience
This busy course fills up fast: Advanced tee times should be scheduled at least 17 days in advance. Open year-round for the hardy all-weather golfer, the course also offers rest and refreshment for the weary, boasting a newly renovated snack bar and patio.

It would be more fun hitting the ball down 42nd street. Reservations mean nothing here. The ground is harder than a bowling ball. Greens are far from green. The wait on each hole is 20-30 min. Other golfers are not nice - Someone actually picked my ball up and threw it!

I've played many rounds of golf and for a city course, this place is not bad, boardering on pretty good (for a city course). Greens are well kept but grass is a tad long so the puts are slower, and slighty bumpy but nothing to rage about. Tee boxes could use a little attention, but fairways are decent. Play is easy if you hit-em straight. No dog legs so its kinda boring, but conditions are good so that makes up for it. Give it a shot, I mean you can't go wrong at $34 a round. Took 5.25hrs for a round
Pros: Decently kept, Wide Open, Inexpensive
Cons: Tee Boxes, Course Design, Slow play
