Service was Great, Steaks were ok!!.
I recently tried Uncle Jack's for the first time. As a long time resident of bayside I decided it was time. I love steaks and have been to what people would consider the best steak house in the city.
ie. Sparks, Peter Luger, Morton's, Gallagher's, STK, and several others.
I will say that there service rivals and surpassed many of the others. When we arrived they gave us the last table available, which was the worst in the house. The hostess already knew we weren't happy with the table and gave us the option of moving after a better one opened up. We didn't even ask her, which I found to be a nice change, considering many of the high end steak Houses treat you like your lucky to be eating in the resturant.
As for the food it was good. Definitely pricey, apps were 24 and 26 dollars. Steaks were good, not super good but good, and at the top of the price range. They were cooked perfect. The atmosphere was not as snooty as I was expecting.
I would go there again, if someone else was footing the bill. Over all pretty damn good!…
Probably the best in town. After so many good words i have not less to say, that this place rocks! Everything is great, the price, the taste, the employees, everything. I loved how fast they servicing, and how affordable is everything in there.…
Only 2 Cappuchino left? ran out of Bread at 8 pm?.
We reserved a table for 6 in advance for my sons Birthday dinner on a Saturday evening. We were seated under the serving window in a cramped corner. horrible, had to watch for elbows in the head,
etc. The drinks were weak, for the price they charge, could have put a whole shot in, right? They gave us 2 pieces of fennel bread for the whole table, we asked for more and they said they had no more. The butter was frozen (right out of a freezer)., the service was awful..we had to flag down a waiter for 6 Cappuchino's at the end of our dinner. Didn't get them either.. what I'd like to know is, how can an over priced steakhouse run out of bread in the middle of dinner service and how can they have only 2 cappuchino's in the joint?? Why would that be? aren't they made fresh for each patron at the time of their order? I have never given a review unless it was a good one.. but i had to speak up for Uncle Jack's.. Tracy our waiter suggested the bone in filet minion as the best in the house.. it tasted pretty good after I cut away all the grizzle and such (never had that on a filet minion before) and the price was higher for the bone?? Overall, it was a terrible experience.. I won't even get into the rest rooms downstairs..
If you want a great steak in a wonderful atmosphere, go to Morton's.. This place sucked big time !!!…
Hit or Miss.
I have to say that the place is somewhat cozy, The traditional interior of a steakhouse is very becoming and appropiate. Fot the Money It's been hit or miss in my experience. There are plenty of
Steakhouses in Queens that are more consistent in product.
The appetizers are fine, the steaks are not representative of the prices but not bad at all.…
