Awesome place and the food and service is wonderful. If you're around the area and you like to eat sushi/Japanese food, I encourage you to swing by and check this place out. The staffs are friendly and the food is delicious. Check out the coupons and promotions that they have and you can save money too when you order. Bring your friends too and make it a fun experience.
Totally disagree with the below posts. This place has great sushi and this place must have done a 180 and taken those bad comments to heart. I think they have really tasty sushi and it is fresh. The price is right too and the staff is uber cool. We were drinking saki bombs and the server was having a blast with us. If your in the area I totally recommend checking this place out
great sushi. a great experience all the way around. some of the best sushi i have ever had in my life. great ambiance and very welcoming staff
HORRIBLE DIRTY.
THIS IS THE DIRTIEST SUSHI SPOT IN THE WORLD. DO NOT EAT HERE YOU WILL GET SOO SICK!
DONT BELEIVE ME? CHECK THE HEALTH INSPECTION WEBSITE WHERE THEY WERE CLOSED DOWN 3 TIMES IN A ROW DUE TO UNCLEANLINESS - DISGUSTING
Terrible quality.
This Sushi restraunt is the worst place I ever tried.
Sushi taste is really bad (Actually it is not sushi!!).
Everything is far from fresh.....
They should make an effort to learn what real sushi is.
Complete dissapointment from a loyal customer. My friends and I had been going there for several years until a truly horrible experience recently. The night had started off well, we were seated immediately and that is when things started to go wrong. After we placed our orders they brought us our food but with it came an extra (and expensive) order. As we tried to explain to the server that we had not ordered it, he brought out the waitress who proceeded to belligerently insist that we had. Although she finally took away the dish, she snapped at us underneath her breath. We decided not to let this spoil our evening, but then one of my friends found that all of his crab sticks were still wrapped in plastic. When we called over the server to explain, he insisted that they were not plastic but shrimp shells... even though there was no shrimp in the roll. By this time, we had had enough, and apparently so had they as they brought the check without our asking. When it came to the table it was dryly tossed onto the table and almost knocked over one of our drinks. Upon looking at the check, we were shocked to see a gratuity charge of 20% for our party of five people even though most places I have been to only charge 18% gratuity when you have a party of at least eight. When we were walking out the door, we quietly warned a pair of girls coming in about the service. It was at this point that our waitress came charging out of the back screaming at us not to ever come back. Although this used to be one of my favorite restaurants, with this kind of service and attitude, I will be following the waitress' advice.
unique experience and the the best quality. I can't believed someone tell bad quality ,my wife and I visited tako sushi last friday, after a full day of 5 th avenue & austin street. this is the 2 nd time at tako sushi. we are realy happy . food , service were outstanding .didn't mind price of meal because this was the end of very good day in queen . it is quite simply one of the best dining experience in queen ....and yes you'll want to go again and again
Bad Management, terrible food and quality. I've been coming to Tako Sushi for about 10 years now ever since it opened. It has recently changed management, chefs, staff, etc. It was a pretty good place for all this time, good portions, decent sushi for the price, great brunch special, and tasty salad dressing. After the change, my bff and I came to Tako twice and twice have been very disappointed. The fish was average quality before...now they use day old fish. The eel has a rough rubbery texture instead of a melt in your mouth texture. The rice is mushy and overcooked and lacks that vinegar taste in sushi rice. The tea is no longer quthentic green tea but cheap chinese tea. And the famous salad dressing is watered down. Good place before but it seems management decided to sell out to some people just care about profit margin and not about keeping an impressive clientle after all these years. Thumbs down :-(
Good for when you crave sushi. . . ..
. . . .and don't want to pay $100 a head.
This is a nice, Americanized (nontradional) sushi place, with good sushi rolls and nice portion sizes. Not quite outstanding, but if you get an occasional yearning for nontradional sushi rolls or donkatsu, you can order plenty and not break the bank.
Disappointed. After reading all these reviews, I deceided to give it a try. Ok I got the edamame and something from the sushi chef for free, but the quality of food is more important to me than a free small dish (maybe that's why the restaurant gives it to attact new customers.) The sushi/sashimi portion is BIG and GROSS. If you don't care for the quality but rather the quantity, then this place is for you. I'd rather pay a dollar more for fresh fish then to risk getting sick. My advise to anyone that like sushi, check out the sushi counter before you order.
