Tips for Dee's

Total Disappointment. We used to come to Dee's often, but this time it was such a disaster. A simple pizza was overloaded with garlic and when we mentioned it to the staff, we were told to " stop complaining, pay the check and never come back'. Do not go to DEE's unless you'd like to see a rude manager and eat crappy food.

One of the better Italian restaurants in the area. I read the reviews before I went to Dee's the other night. I was a little hesitant about the possible rush, especially with guests. The place was packed, which is sort of an indication that the food isn't terrible. This isn't always the case, but it's become pretty standard around here. The vacant establishments are often lacking in service, food, and advertising. Despite the packed crowd, we were seated immediately. It is not the best place to discuss private matters or break up with a significant other. Tables are crammed side by side here. I definitely was able to hear other conversations quite clearly.

The service can be perceived as a bit rushed, but the servers were very kind and attentive. I didn't feel as if anyone at the restaurant was particularly rude or irritated with us. As for the food, the salad serving size was fairly large. We received a bit of black pepper along with lemons for our lemonade. This isn't a big deal, in itself, but I did check this off in the service requirement in my head. As for the entrees, I really enjoyed my lobster ravioli. The calamari was also very flavorful. I received oregano immediately upon request.

I appreciated the ambience. The exposed brick walls reminded me of other Italian restaurants I've been to before. The only thing I didn't like as much was the brown paper covering the tables. I don't really like white tablecloth, but I'm sure they could have come up with something that was better than a covering that resembled a paper bag you get at the grocery store.

The restaurant is located right at Ascan, which is on a lovely tree-lined street in Forest Hills.

Bum's rush. It just wasn't relaxing or fun. I felt rushed. The wait staff must have tried to take my plate 4 or 5 times before I was finished. The food did come extremely quickly and I got the feeling the staff would like us to eat just as quickly and get out of there. So we did.

Just ok pizza... far from special.. The pizza here is just ok. I have had th pleasure of very good brick oven pizza...SORRY THIS IS NOT IT.

Pizza is easy to replicate....excellent pizza is a passion and requires talents that cannot be replicated so easily. Take away their expensive look and the pizza is mediocre. Many surveys where New Yorkers from all boros vote for the best are available online. Look up the winners and make the drive. You will see how it is suppose to taste like.

FOR YEARS, DEE'S CAN'T MAKE THE TOP 20!

Sorry to disappoint.

Yet another great review.... My family has been going to Dee's for years, since it first opened. We eat there at least once a week, and it is always good. The pizzas are satisfying and tasty, and the pasta dishes are delicious. It is a great experience every time!

Dee-lightful!!!. Bruschetta Pizza, SW Shrimp Cocktail, Roasted Beet Salad, New Orleans Pizza, Rigattoni with Eggplant, Cookies and Milk for dessert. This was a perfect meal.

Dee's does a great job of keeping you happy. Once you get a table (this is the only tough part as its ALWAYS crowded), the service is good. The food comes out fairly quickly and tastes great. The menu may offer TOO much- if thats possible. The pizzas are great, the pastas are even better and the fish/meats are nice too, but I tend to stick with the Pizza. Dessert is not something I care for, but to top a meal off with some fresh baked chocolate chip cookies with milk for dipping on the side, what could be better.

Nice space, nice staff, good food makes for a nice evening. I'm glad that Dee's is still doing a good job at making people happy.

BTW, I can't understand what the prior reviews were about. My wife, infant child and I were seated promptly. There were other families dining as well as groups of girls/ladies who looked to have come in after work. There did not seem to be ANY sign of "beautiful people" favoritism. Could it be the reviewer simply has a case of low self esteem?

If you know Italian food you should not go here!. We eat at alot of Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. We decided to try this place tonight (Tuesday). The service was horrible and the food was also below average. The brick oven pizza was served to us as a soggy mess which fell apart at any attempt to eat it. It seemed like the dough was uncooked. We were forced to send it back. We also ordered the penne with chicken. This was a disaster as well. The sauce was light as described but also very bland. The red peppers in the sauce also tasted like they came out of a can. Moreover, the slices of chicken were extremely big (1"X3"X0.75"). You would expect the chicken to be cut into bite size pieces similar in size to the penne pasta so it can all be eaten with only a fork; however this was far from the case. Also the chicken tasted a little funny. As though it was boiled rather than grilled or pan cooked. All in all we were very dissatisfied with this restaurant. Please save your money. There are many other Italian restaurants in the area which are alot better. You could try this little place called Spolini's, not many people know about it but its good food and good people. Actually I think I will give them a review since they don?t have any. Good luck!

Consistantly good food. My fiance & I live in the neighborhood and we dine here frequently. We like it because it is a solid restaurant with consistently good food.

The service (replying to "Two Words - Stay Away") seems decent, I don't recall ever having an issue. The servers are there if you need something but they are not there to "replace your present company and join you in the dinner" they seem to swing by every now and then and leave you to be when you are dining. I think the poor service was an isolated incident.

I like this place, I recommend this place to many people and I think everyone should give it a shot. I also think they have a good variety of off the menu, "daily" specials.

2 words "Stay Away" ! !. Staff was so rude, made me and my wife feel invisable. Food was ok, we have eatan at many brick oven pizzeria's all over NYC and this place was weak. Service horrible, noticed the pretty young girls behind us were greeted and seated much quicker then we were if that tells you what the staff is like and no we are a slender couple in case you thought they were clearing a table that we could fit in.

STAY AWAY!
