Opened in 1993, Nick's may be the only great pizza place in the city of New York that isn't older than most of the people who eat there. The interior is clean and spacious, with wood floors and high ceilings. Framed black-and-white shots of old Forest Hills hang from the walls and a gleaming, flame-spewing pizza oven sits in back.
The Food
The secret to Nick's pizza is the sublime crust, which arrives caked in soot. It has a consistency similar to that of naan and remains good even as it cools. Fresh-tasting tomato sauce and plentiful slabs of thick mozzarella show equal mastery, while toppings are fresh and wide-ranging. A focused staff adds to the experience, doing small but important things like delivering extra napkins when necessary.

THE STAFF ARE PLEASENT AND THE PZZA THEY SERVE WOWW MAN, I JUST LOVE THAT PLACE. IT CAN GET PRETTY CONGESTED BUT THAT 'S BECAUSE THE PIZZA IS TASEFUL. ACTUALLY IM THINKING OF GOING AFTER WORK TO GRAB A PIE LOL.

We recently moved to Forest Hills and thought it would be nice to grab a late dinner in the area (tonight). So we shook our UrbanSpoon app and it brought us to Nick's Pizza. Service was great...neighborhood friendly and very attentive. Pizza was yummy...baked fresh and not too heavy for late night dinner. And last but not least....try the cannoli - a perfect dessert to share and end the night.

I went here with a friend around 8pm. While we still eating the staff started cleaning up the restaurant to close. They sprayed cleaner/bleach right near out table and were cleaning the floors. They could have come over to our table and said, "we are closing soon," or waited until we left to clean with chemicals. Plus, they would not give us a lemon for out water. They only give lemons to customers who buy the bottled water.
