Great Cut, Great Service, Great Value. First and foremost, Nanette gave me a great haircut, and she was obviously very focused on giving me the look that I wanted, while at the same time, providing her opinion and feedback regarding what was most likely to be flattering (but in a way that was not at all pushy).

In addition--and also very important to me---everyone was very nice and went out of their way to provide a pleasant experience. You won't find any of the attitude that is prevalent at so many pricey Manhattan salons. Just down-to-earth great service. Worth mentioning--the woman who gave me my shampoo (sorry--I can't remember her name)--did an awesome job--a perfect scalp massage that was both relaxing and invigorating.

Finally, the price is very reasonable, given the quality of the cut and service.

Unbelievable Service!!!!!!. I have been going to Spectrym Salon for over 20 years and have never been disappointed! Everyone of the Stylists, and Assistants and Spa Workers are excellent. The owners and the receptionists are so friendly and are always acomadating. I have never had a problem. Only, amazing service and talent has ever come out of that salon.

What I have learnt from all my years in Forest Hills is communication is the key to everything that we encounter. It seems everyone is in a hurry and wants the cheapest service. I believe we get what we pay for. Everytime I speak to one of the stylists they are going to on class or another. They are up on all the new and creative education that is out there. I was recently in the city and needed a haircut I was staying there for the weekend. I paid 125.00 and was extremely dissapointed I went back to Spectrym and paid $50.00 for an excellent cut.

Good salon with nice people. I have been going to this salon for the past 5 years and it is pretty good compared to the other 20 I have tried. Consistency is something hard to find and I have to say even here I have not always found consistency.

Some people say that the owner is rude and I get that but the stylists are pretty good and friendly. Don't let the front desk workers or the owner reflect the stylists and spa workers. Plus in comparison to the other salons I have been to the owner is friendly especially in comparison to the snobby salons I tried out on Long Island.

I went to Spectrym with very uneven color, black in the front and brown in the back. I came out with all brown hair. It is not flawless as there are some parts by my ears which were very very dark that are still a little bit darker but it is significantly better than what I went in there with and cost half of what others would charge.

I recommend Paula for color but be very clear and from what I hear Robert for a cut although I have not yet tried a cut by him. However, over the past 5 years I have heard he is the best but didn't want to cheat on my other stylist at the time who happened to have the chair next to him. The clearer you are in any salon the better off you are.

don't waste your time. I just tried to make an appointment for a single process hair color. The guy who answered the phone couldn't give me any prices, didn't ask a single question (do you have grey? how long is your hair?, etc), and couldn't even tell me if they have any specials (which I know they do because I have seen it in the salon window which is right in front of the reception desk). If a salon can't even be professional on the phone with a new client - I'm too scared of the service I would get! They are getting 1 star because I can't get them ZERO which is what they deserve

Do not recommend this salon, at all!!. This is by far the worst salon I have ever been to. The owner is completely disrespectful and undeserving of service. Totally overpriced for below average service. I've been to many above average salons within the five boroughs, and this has by far been my worst experience in a hair salon.

Amazing Talented Hairdressers!!!!!!. I had an appointment Last Thursday and had one of the best experiences of all time. I am very particular about my hair. I called and asked for a very patient hairdresser to talk to about color and the receptionist gave me to Nannette and she explained everything to me. She told me how I would look in the color I asked for. She also suggested a different look .I was a little hesitant until she said how the color would frame my face and how I would look. Well! I told her to do whatever she thought would look good. I LOOK FANTASTIC!!!!!! I LOVE MY COLOR!! After she colored my hair she suggested Lisa to cut me and I got the best haircut ever............. The staff was attentive and so nice and I felt like I was with friends It's about time I found a salon that the hairdresser listens and understands what I want.......See you soon spectrym!!!!!!

Horrible Experience with Color and Overall Service. This place is not even worth one start...I made an appointment on 4/8 for 6pm for color and a haircut. I got there early and its a good thing because the receptionist did not write the appoinment correctly. I told the stylist all I wanted was the grays out of my dark brown hair and basically she put blond in the color so not only did it not take the color but now my gray was another shade and there was blond in my dark brown hair. I was visably upset but before the towel was off my hair the receptionist was asking me to pay because they closed at 7. I should have left then. I then proceeded to get my hair cut and then because at this point they were closing up after the cut the stylist did not fully dry my hair so I left with the back of my head still wet. I am horrified. Not only was the service absolutely terrible but I paid top dollar to leave in tears. I would never return to have this horrific experience again and I would reccommend that no one go there. It is not worth it. Should the owner of this shop want to speak with me she should leave a note on this site with her contact information and I would gladly speak with her.

Do not go here for a wax!!. Came here about a year ago for my first ever Brazilian wax. Big mistake. I forget her name, but she did a horrible job. Obviously it was painful, but it was to the point where I was seeing spots from the pain. She double-dipped into the wax, she left many stray hairs, and worst of all, she ripped off skin!! I was bleeding in two areas. She then threw baby powder on me and called it a day. There was a woman waiting for a wax after me, and I'm pretty sure she didn't change the paper on the bed. I'm just relieved I didn't get an infection from this place. Needless to say, I never returned here again. I've gone to Shobha in Manhattan (they have 3 locations) several times since then and there is a HUGE difference in quality of service. Shobha has yet to disappoint. They are more expensive, but they also provide peace of mind. Really friendly staff, very clean, and they have a strict no double-dip policy. (No I do not work for Shobha). Bottom line, stay away from Spectrym
