Great gym – Forest hills is a community of wealthy women and its good to know that you don't have to pay an ARM and a LEG to get in shape. People assume just because people have money they want to spend all their money.... you get great classes, treadmills, ellipticals, circuit machines, and a sauna for $15/$20 a month.... can't beat it. Circuit machines aren't that great a little outdated... but for what you pay its worth the money!
I used to belong to Lucille Roberts and let my membership expire. I also gained all the weight back that I had lost. I re joined 4 months ago and have already lost 19 pounds and feel great. I love, love the great classes. I have funa and sweat in Zumba and work my butt off in their new class HIT. As the reveiw states.......Run,Don't Walk
Good Gym Good Price – The best thing about LR is that it is a standard gym with weights, machines, exercise machines, and lots of great classes, not to mention Babysitting services, which would otherwise cost a lot more. The price can't be beat, at $15 to $20 monthly, wow, I got the gold membership so a lot of things come included, like access to all other gyms, except a few in manhattan. the place is real clean and the classes are so much fun, I enjoy this gym a lot.
YOU CAN NOT CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP! DO NOT JOIN! – I joined the gym when i first moved to Forest Hills, I am a college student, I have been to many gyms and this one was horrible. Classes were horrible, you have to wait to go on the treadmil and they refuse to cancel your membership even after your contract is up. They will not cancel it in the store and it does not matter if you moved(which i did). THEY DO NOT CARE! Till this day they keep charging me three months later and everytime i call their "corporate" office the phone is off the hook. I went to the attorney General about this and there have been many claims made against them. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM! WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!
One of the worst gyms ever! – I've been a member of this location since 2002 and when I first joined, the classes were great. So great that I would recomment and refer my friends to join. Over the years, the good instructors have moved on to bigger and better things and have been replaced by incompetant ones. Now the classes are terrible. There are only 2 days out the week in which you'll get a great class. Sure you can use the equipment, but the gym is so crowded, it's almost imposible to get a treadmil or elyptical machine. In this case you definitely get what you pay for. A measly $300 for a 2 year membership. I suggest you spend more and go to a better gym.
Women of all exercise levels get support or go for it solo at this females-only fitness chain. – In Short
With locations scattered throughout the Northeast, this workout center sports a pink-and-white logo and maintains a no-boys-allowed policy. Some women take advantage of the treadmill, stationery bike, and elliptical machines while others revert to their youth by jumping rope. Personal trainers tailor their programs to members' get-in-shape goals, and group sessions range from the ABC Workout for beginners to the challenging choreographed Step class and muscle-toning Butt and Gutt.
