Walk down the little stretch of Roosevelt Avenue in Woodside, Queens known as Little Manila and invariably someone will recommend Renee’s. The restaurant is charmingly void of irony or pretension, instead consisting of loud families, Top 40 tunes and cute hand-painted signs only a grandmother could love. If you’re unfamiliar with Filipino cuisine, a waiter will gladly help you, but your best bet is starting with some crispy lumpiang shanghai (savory beef spring rolls) and then moving on to the kare kare (tender oxtail in a mildly sweet peanut sauce) and the de facto national dish, adobo--pork…

Best Authentic Filipino Resto

by AlmaGrace at Citysearch

This is far yet the best flipino resto that i would really recommend to anyone. It provides that authentic asian ambience with its interior decorations and the staff are very courteous and nice...They would even help out with the menu if you dont know what you'd like. The price range are just right for the food. Very accessible too..just thake the 7th train down to 69th and Roosevelt. Take note: They are closed on Wednesdays.

Best Filipino Food in NYC

by generazn118 at Citysearch

So far, the best Filipino food I have eaten in a NYC restaurant! The ambience is not the greatest - but then it is charming in its own way, especially to those who grew up in the Philippines. It gets really crowded on weekends - but it's worth the wait! Their Filipino breakfast meals are great!

  • Pros: Authentic Food, Great Taste, Inexpensive
  • Cons: Small Space, Inconsistent Service, Can Get Very Crowded
