This is the kind of Thai food some consider unattainable in Manhattan. The atmosphere is squeaky clean and no-nonsense: Tables for two can be pushed together to accommodate groups--if there's room. A good way to judge a Thai spot is by its green curry: The all-Thai staff here fashions it spicy and smooth, filled to bursting with meat and thin-sliced bamboo shoots. Shrimp papaya salad could set you on fire, but not everything is spicy. Chicken-coconut soup strikes a good balance between sour and the raw, gingery taste of galangal.

the crispy watercress salad, the papaya salad, numerous pork, duck, eggplant dishes with basil and chili. you really can't go wrong with anything here except for the seafood dishes. they always disappoint in comparison to everything else. love love love this joint.

The renovation was worth the wait; more space, nice decor and price remains very reasonable. The garden is just a wonderful addition. But... can't make too much noise coz the neighbors will complain.

Where to Sit:
Ask to sit in the leafy garden hidden behind the kitchen--the ambience is much more pleasant.

Once the clock strikes 10, staff wants to get out of there. So get your orders in early--including dessert.

Inexpensive homemade treats are stacked in plastic containers all ready to go. Take one home with you.
