“The staff may seem a bit obnoxious, but that is because of the language barrier.”
“first in the salt room (i think its called) then sauna, full body exfoliation, mini facial, head massage, and full body massage un real for that price.”
hair village 62-25 Beware!!. What a bunch of dishonest THIEVES!!! I just had my hair Japanese straightened at the 62-25 location (have gotten it done now 10 yrs at the 63-02 location) and the idiot girl who washes your hair was so rough & unprofessional that my diamond earring got ripped out and wound up going down the sink. The manager didn't even make good by taking anything off the bill. Instead they talked about me in different languages to each other. The girl didn't even apologize! THIS PLACE IS A FREAKIN AWFUL MESS! You are treated like a second class citizen. You are passed down their assembly line. It wasn't even that cheap $232 with tip. I have gotten better prices before. I would NEVER ever go there again. I made a mistake by coming to this salon instead of the original hair village but even the owner of that one was notified and was sitting there talking about me too. Businesses/ People who dont do right by their customers dont deserve our business. There are many other places I could go to like kaccuere in Bayside. They are just as good & honest. I will be going there instead. Awful experience & terrible customer service---I will be taking them to court. The hair washers negligence should not be my loss. Stay away!!!!!!! Not worth the awful terrible customer service
The worst Japanese Strightning. I'm from Florida and my husbands family is from New Jersey. A few years ago, I had my hair done at across the street (Hair Village) and was very satisfied with the results. This year I went back to New Jersey and I asked my husband to take me there again. I called the Hair Village to check their schedule and they told me that they are open 07 day a week. To avoid the traffic,my husband decided to go Sunday and It was BIG Mistake, because Sunday the hair Village was closed (The one I had my hair done at before), but the lady told me to go across the street to the Hair Village and Spa at 62-25 Roosevelt Ave. She guaranteed the same results and that it was the same owner. What a bunch of BS! I got there 8:00am Sunday and at 11:30am when I had my hair dried for the first iron straightening , I felt my hair totally curly underneath. The lady that started ironing my hair in the back called the manager named Cassimere and started to talk in Korean about my hair. I figured out that somenthing was wrong. I asked her if everything was ok with my hair and if the roots were straight, and she answered me, yes your roots are very strong!. Well I went through all the process during 03:30 hours. Finally after they washed my hair for the last blow dry. The other lady called the manager again and told her that the product DIDN''T work in my hair and we had to do it all over again. I had a family Birthday party to go to at 4:00 and the manager promised me that it'll take only a few more hours. It Took 3 more hours. Well, I thought that for the second time it'll work, right? I waited three day to wash my hair and I was already back home in Florida. Guess what? my hair was all curly again! I was so upset, I called the manager and I told her that the least she could do was to refund my money that I paid on my credit card. The manager told that she couldn't return my money before she saw my hair! That was impossible because I was already back in Florida. Results: I wasted my vacation time, my money, and on top of that I had breakage in my hair. COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT! BE VERY LEARY OF THIS BUSINESS! SHODDY WORK AND BAD MANAGEMENT!
Did you know there is a spa here?. been here a few times for pedi's and mani's my mam was visitiing and there was a deal for 65 dollars fora 2and a half hour treatment.. we had a wonderful time.. first in the salt room (i think its called) then sauna, full body exfoliation, mini facial, head massage, and full body massage un real for that price.. wonderful experience and i will be going back!.. any time i go though i hate that they ask me to pay before i get my nails done, even on this occasion they did! on one occasion while having my nails done i paid and while they were drying was approached and asked for the tip!, eh hello, i wasnt going to leave without giving you a tip!.. i feel that i should get the service before leaving a tip no?.. anyway.. try the spa, leave a tip or im sure they will chase you.
Japanese Straightning at Hair Village in Woodside Queens!. I have been going to Hair Village & Spa Inc. for the last 5 years and have always been amazed at the results!! I have brought 12 People with me at different times and have recommended this place to a few others. All have had excellent results! The staff may seem a bit obnoxious, but that is because of the language barrier. I have in the past 5 years had my hair done there by different girls and have always had miraculous results,I will never go anywhere else. I am hispanic and have thick curly hair that reaches past my waist. I am sure that there have been a few people who have had problems, but never while I was there or to anyone I know. The smaller place on the corner does better work. The place is kind of a dump, but who cares its not like youre gonna be living there.
Bad Management. After getting my hair straightened at the Hair Village, chunks of my hair fell off, the ends looked like rubber bands. I paid the $180 plus the mandatory 15% gratuity and left really depressed. I returned 2 hours later because I was so upset and explained to the female owner what this had done to my hair and she responded with, "Your hair was already like that before you came on" which was so untrue. I initially asked her if the treatment would damage my hair and she said, "NO, I will put good conditioner" The male owner was completely nasty, and asked them for at least half my money back, he nearly laughed in my face. It went on from there, it didn't have to, I left without my refund and not having any other choice but to inform others. All and all, they don't care about the customer all they care about is the money.
