Great Bagels... Lousy everything else.. I live across the street from the bagel shop, and although their bagels are excellent there is not much else positive to say. Needless to say convenience of being so close does not persuade me often to give them my money. In the past I have seen employees drop bagels, or rolls on the ground and place them back in the bin. If you
Great bagels when you can get one.. It doesn't matter how good the bagels are because half the time when you go there, they are closed early. There have been SEVERAL times in the past few months that I have shown up LONG before the posted closing time only to find the store locked, the gates down, or being asked to leave. They claim they are "closed" when the door clearly states that they are open until 8pm. If you're lucky enough to get there when they are actually open, the bagels are worth it. But since some of the employees take it upon themselves to determine the store hours, you might be left empty-handed and empty-bellied. Luckily, there is a Dunkin' Donuts right up the road.
Decent Bagels; sub-par lunch. The bagels and spreads are the best selection in Kew Gardens, because it's the only place in Kew Gardens. The lunch menu looks as though there's a great selection of sandwiches, but they're ALWAYS out of rolls and hero bread to make the sandwiches. If you want a good sandwich, walk a few extra blocks to the Redwood Deli on Queens Boulevard.
