Preschoolers and teenagers learn creative ways to leap the education gap.. Yearn to Learn
In a five story turn-of-the-century building, JCAL offers an impressive array of artistically- and technically-focused activities. From the proverbial ground floor up, the experience begins when you enter, with an impressive 1800-square-foot art gallery, a 99-seat theater and an 18-unit computer lab. The after-school multidisciplinary program expands young minds with classes like "Right to Know," "Draw, Paint, Think" and "Art and Architecture." There are also year-round and 14-week courses in dance, visual art, creative writing, piano and video production.

It Takes a Village
JCAL works in partnership with nearby schools to provide young students opportunities to see live theater for drastically reduced prices. Full and partial scholarships make many already inexpensive programs available to larger constituencies. Heck, even adults and seniors will find things to do at this neighborhood wellspring of learning.
