Queens >Reaction Beauty Salon
“The customer base is 70% black american and the employees don't bother to learn enough english to service the customer.”
Huge Language Barrier Problem.
They do a very decent job when it comes to simple wash & set. But you need to be very selective on who you pick to relax your hair if you don't want your hair to fall off.
The biggest problem at Reaction is that if you do not speak spanish, it is very hard to communicate what you want. The worst part is that they pretened they understand you out of embarrassment. But I'd rather they ask for somoene to translate instead of make a fatal mistake on my hair.
Not a bad place, just wish the owner could hire hairdressers who can understand at least a little english? Duh.
Good service. This place is great. I went here recently for the first time for a waxing service and I was so happy. The staff is so nice and accomodating and the girl who worked with me was great. They have a great spa menu with a lot of services to choose from which I will for sure be going back to sample.
they are very professionals and they are the best in NY.
I love this place they are really good. they do a great job when you go to reaction you feel like you are in your house because they treat you very nice. they used very good product that make your hair look very shinier and the owner she's amazing.
If you want your hair heathy go there they have very good hands
If anyone knows a professional Dominican salon, do tell me. Because the stylist was gossiping, she failed to do my hair properly. I didn't feel any difference in my hair after the $10 deep conditioning. She failed to detangle my hair properly. She did everything in a rush and carelessly. And on top of that the things these women say are ridiculous. (I'm Dominican and understand their dialect completely) They really do need to make an effort to educate themselves and speak English. Some of you may think that I should disregard what the women say, but when you've heard this kind of nonsense your whole life, there's nothing else to do but say something about it, in hopes that the next generation of Dominican women working in salons will be more educated and considerate.
A Fraction of it's former self. It saddens me that this salon has fallen off. I have patronized Issa & Chela for 10 years now. Chela owns a Reaction Salon in Baldwin Long Island. It started off really classy but has also fallen off. Unfortunately the level of service has deteriorated drastically. They say "you get what you pay for". The services are cheap, thus so is the customer service. There is constant miscommunication due to the language barrier. The customer base is 70% black american and the employees don't bother to learn enough english to service the customer.
Don't go there!. I was there this past weekend, and the usual stylists are no longer there. If you are black, stay away from there!!! No joke! My perm was terrible, my hair looks like I need a perm and my hair cut is awful. My bangs are short and the wholes style is non-existent! Don't go there!
Editorial Review. In addition to haircuts and coloring, salon also specializes in hair weaving.
Best hair stylist in NY HANDS DOWN!. I am a purveyor of many salons. I live in the City and used to spend hundreds if not thousands on my hair every year. Well that wont cut it for a law school student. My mother lives in Queens and had often told me about Reaction salon. So on a lim i went. For $22.00 they will do your hair bettre than any other salon in ny. They have the best hair washers ever, they thoroughly cleanse your scalp. and hair I always bring my own products. After i leave reaction, my hair looks shinier and more vibrant than ever. Chela (owner) is an amazing woman, who is incredibly wonderful to her staff and frequently seems me late at night because she knows how far i travel to the salon. this is the best salon in NY! hands down.
