Carnegie's smaller space refuses to be upstaged.

Baby Grand
Just a few doors down from Carnegie Hall's main entrance is Weill Recital Hall, one of the city's premier venues for chamber concerts and solo recitals. Seating 268 people, it's a tenth of the size of its sister hall, the
Isaac Stern Auditorium, but equally lavish. The room's cream tones and blue drapes will sedate you into the perfect calm for listening. Overhead, you'll find a stunning row of sweeping chandeliers.
Weill-Tempered Acoustics
Unfortunately, the hall's rectangularity prevents sound from traveling unimpeded very far. The resulting tonal quality lacks the omnipresent thunder and vibratory intensity that can make live concerts so enthralling. However, there is a definite charm to the shortcoming akin to that of old recordings. So if you're not up for grand orchestral oeuvres, the Weill's regal interior and eminent programming lend themselves to a pleasantly intimate music experience.
