A famous theatrical impressario has this Broadway theater as his namesake.
by Contributor
This is a beautiful theater built by the famous producer David Belasco in 1907. The structure included an apartment for his personal use, with a peephole for viewing the stage. After his death in 1931, it was said that his ghost had taken over the box seats. Nowadays, Belasco's ghost is usually the only patron: With a few exceptions, this beautiful structure has been dark since the late `70s. If you're lucky enough to see a production here, try and sit in orchestra rows D through J. Clifford Odets' "Waiting For Lefty" and T. S. Eliot's "The Cocktail Party" opened at the Belasco (which has a decorative interior incorporating commissioned Tiffany glass).
