User Reviews for Central Park--Wollman Rink

I skated here a year and a half ago at Thanksgiving. I loved the rink but had difficulty with their rented skates. The first two pair had very dull blades which makes it too difficult to skate. The third pair finally was OK. Bring your own skates.

Pros: Nice location

Cons: Skate blades are not sharp

Bring your own lock for the lockers. If not, there's a small fee to rent theirs. This sure beats having your shoes taken or lost somewhere.

Pros: mix of music, have food/ drinks, no time limit

Cons: crowded on weekends, long line wait, Hard shoes

It's a great rink- huge and very picturesque- especially at night, with the sky line of NYC visible through the trees all around the rink. And it's a great value. However, it's super crowded on weekends. Best times to go: weekdays at night when it's super cold. Also, sometimes, the teenage skating guards are more interested in the girls than on keeping order.

Pros: romantic, large rink, good value

Cons: crowded at times, reckless teenagers, long lines at times

I've heard a "not very good reputation" about how crowd it has here. But, when I tried once to this rink, my opinion has changed. I think this is the best ice skate rink I've ever known. I can play as long as I want withount paying more for another round. All staff are good and helpful. Only bad thing about this rink is there are too much people every weekend, but if you come on weekday, you'll never find it.

Pros: Good Fac/Main/Area, Unlimited Playing, Reasonable Price

Cons: Weekend Crowd, Some Show-off Skaters

A good place to visit after 6 PM, there is less people. During the day its overcrowded with people skating really fast. If you can't skate well I suggest you stay to the side. Well what can you expect from a place that let's you skate for a whole day w/o charging an hourly fee or have specific times arranged. Like Rockefeller Center and Chelsea Piers.
