The park actually has two dog runs: one for big dogs, another for their smaller counterparts. And thanks to the dog runs' proximity to Carl Schurz Park and the East River, these runs actually offer up contact with Mother Nature. The small dog run, which has a solid base, is usually clean and airy. The big dog run, with its pebble base, is often damp and stinky. Both runs are packed on sunny weekend days, however, so be prepared for hordes of dogs, dog owners and onlookers.
