Great Bday Venue

by Stacey Peters

Sin Sin was a great find in the Village. I reserved a table for my boyfriends 26th birthday and we had a group of 14 friends. I found a free planning planning service AccessGotham. com and they set everything up for me, which made the night go smoothly.

I had one of my friends drop off a birthday cake earlier in the night and my boyfriend was shocked we had one!. The staff was great and our waitress was so sweet to all our friends. The DJ was very talented and played great tunes the entire night!

Successful NYC Night!

by Zackary Stern

I helped one of my girlfriends organize her birthday at Sin Sin through AccessGotham. com

The night was a success, no door hassles, great drink specials that were delicious.

We reserved the upstairs backroom next to the dj and dancefloor. We even had our own private bartender! Everyone in our group had a fabulous time!

YAY FOR FREE DRINKS!

by SandyKeyLimePie

This place plays GREAT music! Cover is $5 for a Saturday night and the bartenders were pretty cool but then again, my friends told them it was my birthday and I got FREE DRINKS!

YAY FOR FREE DRINKS!

They have two floors so the girls and I migrated constantly between the two where the music ranged from old school hip hop to some bumpin' electro. This place makes people move which is good since I didn't notice anyone standing around staring at people dance which is creepy.

Drinks are relatively inexpensive ranging from $5 - 10 which is pretty good in my opinion. I'd definitely come back even though it caters to an early 20s crowd.

Awesome place to hang out :)

by kayTea

I've been to this lounge several times and have always had a good time. there is a $5 dollar cover to get in. Which considering its NYC it's like nothing. It is a bar lounge and the decor is a little cheesy but really you're there to have a good time not to stand and stare at the wall. I haven't been there since my favorite DJ is no longer there on sat so that's a downer. This place has three floors. Usually they have house and old school hip-hop on the first and top40s/hip-hop-/pop on the second but that can be differnet depending on the DJ. Basement has coat check($3) and bathroom. The crowds here are really mixed. So on any given Friday or Sat its a different crowd. This is a popular place because of is vibe so it WILL get crowded. The bouncers are not pretentious rude a-holes which is a big plus. They are always patrolling around the crowd and on hand if you ever have a problem. I've been there on a Wednesday and its a house/soul/funk kind of day but its really cool and laid back. Awesome place to hang out.

Just Dance

by EmilyNieves

Great 2 for 1 happy hour until 8 on everything brings the local drinking crew in early. Stop in before 8 for a couple of martinis. But later it changes to a cool lounge/club vibe with DJ's upstairs and downstairs, gets crowded on the weekends but there's lots of dancing so it keeps moving. Good bartenders, well run place. It's the kind of place you go to chill and hear house music or sometimes hip-hop. An easy going crowd. The owner's very friendly. Good times all around.

i love sin sin (:

by Miss Becky2010

i had checked out all of the other affiliate venues (i.e. katra, taj and bar 12), and finally gave sin sin a GO!

sin sin is definitely the "go to" spot if you're looking for a great end of the week party. my friends and i loved sin sin so much this past friday, that we decided to return on saturday. our plans to go to miami for the weekend were ditched at the last minute, but all was made right for us with the awesome drinks and food at sin sin.

heading back this weekend!

  • Pros: MUSIC baby!
  • Cons: crowd :|

Sin Sin is For the Win

by Amy20706

While visiting with relatives in the city over the Memorial Day weekend, I happened to stumble into Sin Sin while bar hopping throughout the city. Sin Sin is a bit unassuming, but I am SOOO happy that we ended up here. The music was great, in comparison to a few of the spots we visited located in the same area. The crowd was very laid back, and the staff was very friendly. Our server was very attentive, but so many other great things overshadowed this minor setback.

  • Pros: mixed crowd; awesome range of music
  • Cons: server wasn't too attentive

Sin Sin a magical time machine

by DeDePicky

Ace of Base "The Sign"? Salt-N-Peppa "Whatta Man"? Skee-Lo "I Wish"? Montell Williams "This is How We Do It?"

Is Sin Sin a magical time machine that has transported me back to the 1990s??? If so, fantastico!!!!!! I haven't heard this amazing assortment of 90s jams since, well, the 90s!

Crowd: nothing to get jazzed about (usually an assortment of birthday parties and bachelorette parties)

Drinks: hit or miss. B+ on price. A+ on bartender friendliness (left her a hefty tip for letting me try the "coffee patron" for the first time).

Door: I got there at 12:15 and the list closed at 12am... I was still let in for free so I give the bouncer/door ppl an A+. i dont pay cover to go to places so that rocked!

Music: If you enjoy the songs mentioned at the top of this review, you'll LOVE IT! I sure did!! Thumbs up sin sin !

  • Pros: Great Music and Bartenders

NYC-nostalgia

by Katie Bug

You either love it or hate it, wither way WEDNESDAY night is the night to go. I almost hate to let this cat out of the bag because it's basically a locals party on Wednesdays and, I was told, it's rare for them to see newbies.

I COMPLETELY understand why this place gets some BAD reviews- it's not the nicest venue and at times it can get a little crowed, but hey its a CLUB what did you expect?

I had such a good time and whenever I think of this place I get the NYC-nostalgia that you get when you leave.

The Wednesday crowd is basically a bunch of professional/street dancers that dance house. It is SO amazing because they move like NOTHING you have ever seen before.

I've been to a lot of dance parties in my life and seen a lot of genres, but the way they move their bodies is insane and definitely is a once in a lifetime (or weekly if you live in NY- haha) experience.

The crowd is real friendly and will chat you up, ESPECIALLY if they don't recognize you (which is, I suppose not a suprise in NYC) and the bar staff is just super cool and there is no pressure to overdo it with the booze because it's just an awesome house party.

LOVE this place.
