Late night chillin'

My bf and I went in late last august, after 2:30 am and it seemed pretty dead. The bartender was chill, and the dj was spinning some great music. I loved the vibe here. Check it out.

• Pros: Inexpensive, great music, cute area
• Cons: Empty, nobody really there.

Great little bar

Never had a bad experience, although I've never gone on a Friday or Saturday night so I don't know what the crowd is like at those time. After work and week nights are great in there. The bartenders are awesome people, the drinks are perfect, and there's always good music.

Great Party Bar/Lounge, A Bit Crowded, A+ DJ

This past Saturday night was quite a party for my friend at Tribe. The scene here is very fun but the crowd there could make anyone feel a bit overwhelmed. For his birthday, my friend called ahead and reserved the "back area," which is a U-shaped banquette large enough to sit about 8 comfortably. No problems whatsoever at the door. I'll be coming back here, but I might not stay for the midnight rush... I'd try heading to Tribe early and leaving before the crowds engulf you, or coming later in the night if you can even fit inside. The DJ spun great music all night long and kept everyone on our toes by changing songs every 1-2 minutes, and mixing some great tracks together for a unique experience. I just wish Tribe were a little bigger so we would have been able to dance the night away... with such a great DJ, it was a shame we could barely move around, and getting a drink proved difficult. Drinks were strong though and the party raged on despite the "nuts to butts" atmosphere. My favorite thing about Tribe was that despite the mass of claustrophobia-inducing booty-shaking 20-somethings, I found a veritable jackpot of cute girls throughout the bar. Like I said, I'll be back -- but when the pack moves in, I'll be moving out.

Great Customer Service, Great Social environment, and nice music

Very Good staff... I went to this place on a monday, and a staff member named Mark was sooo cool. We had a great conversation. The environment was very nice and calm..though that was expected for a monday night. Unfortunately the DJ called out that night..but at least there was still nice music being played. It was a pleasure to be in this place...I am looking forward to exploring this bar/lounge on a sat. night in which i hear is more social, crowded, and upt to beat with a fantastic DJ.. I highly recommend this place to those who very much favor social environments. :)

Best Staff, Ever!

I have been going to tribe for quite some time. Whether it be on the weekends, or week days. I tend to stay away on the weekends, for it is quite busy. I sometimes sneak in to hear a little bit of Baby Blue's set, or Sugarhiccup, or just to get a smile from Little Jo. During the week it is a little strange, for I get a couple bartenders mixed up. There are two bald guys that look similar but are very different. On one night there was a really fun, kind of nerdy crowd. On the other night, there was a full bar of girls gleaming at the bartender. Each night was fun. There is a really cute guy that works there sometimes on Wednesdays and he makes really great vodka shots! All in all, tribe is a lot of fun. And I have been late to work a few times because of it. So, if you are looking to have a great time, tribe will never let you down!

• Cons: They should sell fernet branca, like they used to !

Great No Hassle Fun

Although Tribe has been a mainstay on the LES I only just went last week for a friend's birthday. The place is small but intimate with a really good dj. Since we had a party, we had hassle-free reservations for tables with no bottle minimums. The crowd was good, music was good (mix of hip-hop, soul and some popular pop on Friday) and drinks were relatively inexpensive and we had a great time. Overall, a good place to host a little party. Service was excellent. Our waitress kept the drinks coming all night in a very timely manner.

crowded but nice

reasonably priced drinks, pretty good music to dance to. really nice down to earth bartender too ;P it got crowded really early the night i went and the room was really hot and steamy from the body heat, so that was pretty gross. but everyone in there was cool and laughing and having a good time so i didn't mind the elbows to the head for that night. good times, good times.

Cool Spot

This is a cool place in the EV. Unfortunately it's starting to attract the uptown crowd which is hurting it a little. Really cool bartenders.

NEW YORK'S BEST KEPT SECRET....

Tribe has been a mainstay of ours for a few years now, and no matter how many staff changes they might have they always hire great people, which is what makes this such a good spot. The current staff, including the doorman, waitress, DJ and bartenders are excellent.

If you haven't been to this place, stop by on a Saturday when it's hottest, but only bring your coolest, most mellow friends - keep the vibe going!

Great DJ...Good Drinks...Cool Bouncers!

I've been coming to the tribe every Friday&Saturday for the last month and a half.

I always have a great time. The bartenders/waitress are very nice. The dj plays the best mixed music. The place is small and can get very crowded, but the crowd is cool. I thank the two

bouncers for that. Ice on the floor, kream at the door.These two guys are great, they're

not the aholes bouncers you'll meet in some of the other clubs. Ice will take the time to

take pictures with you if you ask him, and at the same time keep his eye on the floor and

watch his partners back. kream is a turn on for the women at the door and makes us feel

safe outside. Ice is good to look at and he takes care of us girls on the inside. Thank you guys

for making us feel safe so we can enjoy ourselves.

• Pros: great music...good drinks...cool bouncers.
• Cons: small space and bathroom.
