Buyers Beware!

I had a bag with defective hardware and when i brought it back to be repaired, at first they agreed. Then they called and told me they couldn't repair it because they switched to a different, more durable hardware that they couldn't be put on the old style. When asked if they can compensate me in any way, since it is their fault for the defect, they flat out refused. The girls there rude and unhelpful, like i was bothering them. So now, i'm stuck with a $500 bag i cant use because they won't admit to their own past mistakes.

Also, when asked for a call-back to rectify the situation, they never did.

Horrible experience and not worth it! Bags are overpriced and vintage copies anyway. Can find better ones on Elizabeth St.

Great Customer Service

This store has it all- amazing party dresses and slinky separates, unique vintage finds and fantastically priced, beautiful handbags that are actually crafted in New York! The helpful sales staff always has time for customer attention as well as a "different take" on multiple ways to re-invent your wardrobe. Love it!!!

Uncool.

I loved this store before and have bought jewelry,clothes and a bag there. However I stopped loving it when I bought my bag-not because the $300.00 bag(with tax) started shedding all my clothes/coats and everything inside but because of this: When I went in there a while later with the intention to shop I saw the same bag I had bought-the shedder, but this time is was lined inside and the straps were sewn shut. So I inquired and the very nice sales girl(whom the owners should probably listen to) told me to just bring it back, that its been an ongoing problem and they will line it/sew up the straps for free. That was the right thing to do and I did love the bag but couldn't wear it so I returned with the bag eager to get it fixed and wear it all the time. THis time a different sales girl who was nasty from the get go said that I would have to get my own material and then bring it there and THEN pay for it to be sewn. That was NOT ok with me after spending so much on it so I went back again and someone else told me they would do it but I would have to pay for it and they would call me with the price. Well they did call but only after it was "done" and charged $40. I couldn't believe they were making me pay for their glitch. When I picked it up they charged me 30 after nicely voicing my opinion, I should have fought harder, but they kept haggling that it should be even more but they were giving me a deal, yeah, ok...I guess that's why I had to write THiS. ANd the material is cheap, I know- I used to work with garments plus there aren't even any pockets in there at all. Should have saved my money and time and shopped for a same priced bag that is better made and with much better service. I don't like to give bad reviews, in fact I think this is the first one I ever gave but I felt I had to...I felt had. Everyone makes mistakes but at least own up to it and don't make others pay for it.

Love Foley & Corinna

This store is great! Aside from the fact that it's a little bit out of the way to get too, the selection and quality of the fabrics is great! Everything is organized by color (vintage mixed with new) and the new items are actualy cheaper than the prices listed online (Shopbop and Activeendeavors)! There are a lot more colors available in the store than online too.

The Scene
Dana Foley works with hand-dyed wool to craft sheer, shapely knits. Her partner, Anna Corinna, is a vintage trendspotter, supplying designers like Anna Sui and Donna Karan with inspiration in the form of snakeskin bags or Pucci pantsuits. Both used to have booths at the 26th Street flea market, where they became friends and came up with the idea of opening a boutique.

The Goods
Furnished with flea market finds (a cozy sofa for bored boyfriends) and organized by color, the shop's a comfy, down-to-earth haven for clothing mavens. Foley's restructured vintage T-shirts (she adds bows and lacing for a sexier look) mix with Corinna's scores du jour (right now, she's feeling the '80s). The best part about this blending of vintage and new? You get something totally unique: Lace up Foley's backless and bustled party dress, throw on a Corinna-found jeans jacket and all of a sudden, you're the princess of cool.

THE BEST OF THE BEST

What is amazing about Foley & Corinna is that it's not in direct competition with the likes of Prada and all the others. It is still the best kept New York secret. In my opinion, it's actually much better than any designer you've ever heard of. You can be assured of never seeing the designs on someone else. The accessories are extraordinary. Their "vintage" is like taking the absolute best of whatever worked with a certain style, and then re-inventing it to look modern, while also adding their own touches. Each year I go in the store, I think, this is so unique and beautiful, it can't get any better", but then I go in the next year and somehow they keep topping themself. If you love and can appreciate style and clothes, you really have to go and look at their "artwork". It is simply extraordinary.
