Haven't been to DoHwa for awhile so popped in last week. Glad to see this place hasn't lost it's edge.
Tried some of their new dishes (tuna tartar and squid bibimbop) yummy!
Will definitely be returning!
- Pros: Awesome Food
Very Disappointing

I was upset after leaving this restaurant. When we arrived, the place was completely empty and yet it took 10-15 minutes for the waitress to take our drinks order (she gave us a song and dance about how she had a hard night or something), and later the waiter pushed my friend and I out even though half the tables were still empty (maybe the end of his shift? That's fine--it's okay to tell me that, but not to insult me and give me some BS reason to leave).
I've been to MANY Korean restaurants in NYC from inexpensive to upscale. Don't go here. Go to one of the restaurants on the East 30s, where you will get good service and food that's as good or better..
- Pros: Good food
- Cons: Terrible service
THE BEST EXPERIENCE--DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS PLACE
by robnsteph at Citysearch
We had never had Korean food before and it was AMAZING it was the best dining experience in about 10 years. The food was exceptional and the staff was so attentive. Brian the manager was so personable coming over to the table to even recommend a lounge in the area. This is a place to go for a dining experience like no other. ENJOY--we can't wait to return. Thanks Brian and Staff
- Pros: The whole experience/ the perfect ambiance
- Cons: NONE
my favorite place!

this is hands down my favorite restaurant! i go just about once a week to get my fix. the food is always fresh and delicious. they just changed over to their summer menu and i am so happy with the seasonal items they have added. the staff is amazing, very friendly and genuine. the drinks are the bombs. i love sitting at the bar here. the bartenders are great and there is always room enough to hang with friends or even for a date. and i almost forgot, i am always impressed by the music they play here. i always leave here better and happier!
- Pros: the new kalbi, ginger kamakaze (and the eye candy behind the bar!), great energy
- Cons: nothing except when you show up on saturday without a reservation
Outstanding

I've been wanting to try this place since I moved in to the neighborhood and it did not disappoint me. I went with a friend and we sat at a BBQ table. Our server was very informative and sweet. She explained everything to us as to ordering since this was our first time there. The food was great. It is on the spicy side but there were options for those who cannot take the "heat" like my friend. I'm looking forward to going back again
- Pros: Food, service
- Cons: didn't go sooner!
Bad experince!

This place is not a place that you can hang out with your boyfriend or girlfriend.First of all it is too noisy and the food is something that you can find in a 2 class restaurant.
I LOVE this place

I am a born and Raised Korean American. My mom fed us Korean food all of our lives and we went to the most popular Korean restaurants in Flushing for Sunday dinner with family and what not. I have NEVER EVER experienced Korean food the way this place has served it.
They bring in such a modern, cool, chic ambiance without it feeling too rustic or too cold. AND THE FOOD! oh my jebus! the FOOD! I ate sushi bibimbap. SO FRESH! SO BOLD! SO DELICIOUS in flavors! They are good at giving Korean food a modern twist without compensating the Koreaness of the dish. The prices are great too for the quality they give you.
Cool place to hangout with your friends cause they got a nice bar in the side. Nice romantic place to go with your hubby or boyfriend/girlfriend and I would absolutely bring my parents or relatives here. LOVE IT
- Pros: delicious food
- Cons: your average five year old wouldn't appreciate it...
Great Korean Food, without the BBQ Smell.

Do Hwa?s decor is modern-ish with 3 main colors present: black, white and red. The staff is attentive and friendly. The food was yummy... from the panjan to the bibimbap to the soups... all fresh and quite tasty. One of my dining mates is a friend who recently moved to NY from Korea and he gave it the thumbs up... which says a lot. All in all, yummy food, good service and average pricing (comparable to K-Town). I should point out, though, one difference between Do Hwa and most Korean restaurants? there is no barbequing at the table. While some may enjoy the traditional way of bbq-ing at the table... it does save you on dry cleaning bills because, without fail, when you leave a Korean restaurant, the bbq?s (whether from your table or someone else?s) aroma stays with you.
- Pros: good Korean food, fun location
A Hidden Gem

I'm a born and raised New Yorker and have tried tons of different kinds of food in my lifetime. I've always loved Korean food and have eaten at all different Korean restaurants in the tri state area. I've had Korean food in Flushing, Long Island, New Jersey and Manhattan. What makes Do Hwa stand apart is the food and atmosphere. I'm a big believer in authentic cuisine and the food in Do Hwa is just that. The Gal Bi is amazing because its marinated to perfection with just the right blend of seasoning and when grilled on a steel grill, it's even better. That's just one of my faves. The Kimchi Pajun (kimchi pancake) , Dduk Boki (spicy rice cakes), and Sewoo Tigim (fried butterfly shrimp) are my favorite appetizers. They also have a great drink menu. The atmosphere and decor of Do Hwa make it a trendy downtown spot with an old school feel. It's not only the best Korean in the city, it's one of the best restaurants in NYC.
Tip: Make reservations if you want the tables with the grills!
- Pros: Cute waitresses
GREAT KOREAN FOOD & HAPPY HOUR
by tinaxp at Citysearch
Being korean, I have high standards for my korean food. Do Hwa offers authentic korean taste without the bright flourescent lights of ktown. Do Hwa has a full menu with a variety of flavors that will suite any palate. Try the kalbi jjim it's my favorite! I come here all the time with my boyfriend or a group of friends. Do Hwa has the chic yet friendly atmosphere to accomodate a romantic date or large party. The HAPPY HOUR is not just drinks , it is also a great way to try some of the delicous menu items at half the price! I LOVE THIS PLACE!
- Pros: Good food, service, and ambience
