CHEAP!

Great place to pick up a cheap and trendy find -- not the highest of quality -- but, hey, what do you expect!!!

I just moved to ATL...and i was so heartbreaking when i couldn't find an h&M here, then my friend said that there will be one opening spring of '08, thats toooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long to wait for. I need to go back to NYC and get me some coats, scarfs, sweaters and really cutem trendy and stylish accessoies. I LOVE U H&M...and i will be there with Roberto Cavalli's line opens on the 8th.

Used To Be Good
by trojanchick
H&M was top on my list at one point, but as the years have gone by, so too has the store. Gone are the days when you could buy a stylish sweater at H&M for under $20--H&M has raised their prices way too much to justify the quality they put out. The styles might be cute, but they are not made well, so after a few washes, you'll have to throw out the garmet.
It's better to go to Macy's and spend roughly the same amount for something you know will last you many wears. H&M is a phase and at the rate they are going out--I hope they'll get washed out sooner than later.
- Pros: Stylish designs
- Cons: Clothes not made well at all; fall apart after a few washes; waste of money
Euro styles for the masses
by rachel1215
Great style and price--all in the same place. While in NYC, my roomies and I made HM our destination and worked in everything else around it. Six hours later, we made it. 2 hours later, we were done. They have a lot of cheap and fun jewelry--you know, rings that turn your finger green, earrings that give you an infection--bottom-line theyre still cute. I'm always impressed with their clothes, though. Yes, cheap, but everything Ive bought is still in good condition six months later after much wear-n-tear.
Tip: Girls, opt for the men's changing room bc its faster than the girl's. Also, go early on a weekday bc evenings/weekends are chaotic and crowded. Id find out when they get their shipments in too.
HM-please come to LA!
Great for Going Out
by nkysinn
If you need to go out that night, you are sure to find something to wear there. Their clothes last awhile depending on how you treat it. I have some clothes that have last me a couple of years actually. Very diverse and good for the money. Love this store.
Cheapstuff

Good for clothes that you wear one time and throw out. The quality will not hold for more than one wear. I find that the clothes do not fit correctly on a curvy body as the seams tend to twist. Expect long lines and long waits for the dressing rooms.
- Pros: Selection, Price
- Cons: Bad quality, Long lines, Messy store
Europe's trustiest source for trendy clothing at low prices--think Zara-meets-Kmart.

The first stateside branch of this Swedish superstore is sprawling (35,000 square feet), with an open, lofty feel, slick escalators and three floors devoted to men's and women's clothing, accessories and even beauty products. A sleek white and steel, minimalist interior, artfully arranged merchandise, neat do-it-yourself makeup displays reminiscent of Sephora and chic mannequins may make you feel as if you're about to spend big bucks. But the prices are indeed low--don't be surprised to find yourself squealing "only $25?!" not just once, but over and over again. Some shoppers have been seen hauling two and three of an item up to the register. And why not, with prices like these? Knockoff fans who usually wait for the fashion trickledown to reach old standbys Contempo Casuals and Joyce Leslie will be overjoyed to find affordable treasures in such a spiffy environment, and uptown gals looking for cheap thrills won't be disappointed either.

style at decent prices

I like to go early in the morning, as it can get insanely crowded and the wait for the dressing rooms and cashier lines can be up to 45 minutes each. H&M is a required stop for me because there are always a handful of stylin' clothes for $30-$70, which really is a good bargain, considering that I wear all my H&M purchases all the time, as opposed to other clothes that paid as much or less for but don't wear as often. These clothes probably won't last me as long as some other clothes will (but it's not like they'll fall apart after several washes either!)
- Pros: Affordable style, trendy
- Cons: Insanely crowded!, medium quality
