Amazing!

Incredibly gorgeous, wonderful wait staff, delicious drinks - what else could you ask for? This is one of the best lounges I have ever been to. I don't think I've ever been attended to in such a polite and professional way. YOU MUST GO!
- Pros: Everything!
- Cons: Nothing

The worst bar experience I've had in the 10 yrs I've lived here. The staff was overtly hostile. The service could not have been slower, even when there's hardly anyone there. The drinks sounded creative and interesting but actually tasted really bad. Two different drinks I ordered were literally undrinkable, even with valiant effort. I don't get it. This place is old and tired and tacky inside -- so what's with all the attitude? I wanted to like it there because I like Tribeca. I really tried. But there were just no redeeming qualities at all.
- Pros: none
- Cons: hostile staff, huge attitude, bad tasting drinks
Fun new cocktails!
by milkcrate57 at Citysearch
I had not been into Tribeca Grand Hotel in a while but, recently was drawn in by a friend to attend an Art Brut show... Anyway, I really enjoyed the cocktails- a bartender told me that there is a completely new list... something like 30 signature drinks! I had a royal gin fizz with egg whites and some fancy gin and fresh lemon and sugar syrup- so simple yet tasty. There was also a cool cocktail with a bison grass vodka mixed with black currants... really good! I am told that bison grass is an aphrodisiac? Last cocktail of the night was something called a Five Spice- cognac and calvados, with cherry puree and ginger... really a great, complex (lots going on) cocktail.
After three drinks I was feeling good, so I switched to wine... pleasantly surprised with the selection. I drank a glass of a really old vine grenache.
- Pros: cocktails, wine, bartender knowledge
Never Again
by nyupark at Citysearch
The service is beyond slow. They just ignore you, and have terrible attitude. The food and drinks are overpriced and lousy. If you want to go somewhere decent, look elsewhere, especially if you're coming in the early evening for a pleasant drink.
- Cons: bad service, expensive, poor drinks
In a city where most hip digs are a flash in the pan, this refined hotel bar is growing old gracefully.

The Scene
Inside the swank, earth-toned atrium of the Tribeca Grand Hotel, vases of dramatic branches tower over plush banquettes, gorgeous servers uniformed in slinky asymmetric dresses traipse between tables, and posh patrons people-watch from the streamlined bar. The high ceiling reaches over seven levels of guest rooms, expanding the space to cathedral-like heights. The bar is named for its Church Street location, but a mod grotto of electric candles lends the sanctum of a temple--to worship the perfect cocktail.
The Draw
Pricey, well-poured drinks--like the Grand Margarita, served in a huge cognac glass, and the light and fresh blueberry martini--are at their best when savored on weeknights, when the room is quiet and serene. Tribeca lost many of its neighborhood scenesters when the see-and-be-seen crowd flew to Manhattan's western shores, but a well-dressed--if not intensely trendy--crowd still lines up at the hotel's velvet rope on weekends.

Good drinks, friendly staff. sometimes too many suits but not as suity as before. Space is too big & when not filled, looks a little sad. mango mojito is excellent!
- Pros: Friendly
Like A Bad Dream
by taksa at Citysearch
If by "trendy" they mean lots of girls looking like escorts from the late eighties and lots of men wearing black mock turtlenecks and ogling the gilrs, then this is the epitome of trendiness. This place is horrendous! Overpriced and poorly prepared drinks served in an acoustical nightmare of a space is not my idea of a good time. The 300lb goons in head to toe black are watching your every move from every corner of this space does not add neither comfort nor coolness. This Las Vegas like bar is not what NYC is all about.
- Cons: , service, scene
This place is AWFUL
by kelevholik at Citysearch
I have been to bars all over the world and never been treated as poorly as I was by this staff at this joke of a trendy lounge. Even though the place was empty, the bouncers kept pushing people into a corner. I met up with friends there who were there for a party of 25 people. I did not know most of them and they would not allow us to buy drinks either with cash or a separate tab if we wanted to "hang out" in the same area as the party, instead insisting that we put all our drinks on one tab and settle at the end. The manager was just as rude and the drinks were overpriced. I will NEVER go back to this dump.
- Cons: , Overpriced, Terrible Place
No respect
by nyctrendee at Citysearch
It can be the trendiest place in the world but when you can't go into a place that treats their customers with respect, you know you'll have to pass on it.
- Pros: Ambience, Pretty Empty
- Cons: , Disrespectful, Expensive
