great steak!

by atl1012 at Citysearch

We went this past weekend for our anniversary. The food was excellent! We had the crabcake for our appetizer. My husband got the ny strip and i got the filet trio featuring 3 different sauces. we had mac and cheese and asparagus as our side items. our waiter brought us a slice of their lemon cake free of charge! everything we ordered was excellent! i believe our waiters name was joshua. he was great! it's expensive, but the food was awesome. we had a reservation, so seating us was not a problem.

not that good

by derfffff at Citysearch

Some of my co-workers raved about this place so brought a date here and gave it a try. I have gone to several steakhouses in the city as well as other states and this one does not rate high with me. It was a slow night and our waiter was not very attentive and then when I asked for one seafood platter and said "I'm going to share this with my date," the waiter said "Oh, well, I'm not sure that's allowed, I'll have to get permission from the chef." I guess it was a per-person dish but our waiter got permission for us to share but when the platter came, man was it a small portion for the price! lol Was not impressed with the steak and to be honest, I had a MUCH better meal and experience at a steakhouse by Penn Station. I still need to try Peter Luger's and the Homestead.

RUDE STAFF, HIGH PRICES, POOR QUALITY

by SadieMarriedLady at Citysearch

Horiffic experience by apathetic, discourteous, bad-mannered, disrespectful and insolent staff.

This includes everyone from host to server to manager.

With so many excellent steak houses in the same area, I don't understand why anyone would choose this one. Prices are slightly higher than similar steak houses and the quality of food and portion size much below that of comparable establishments. I don't understand the good reviews bestowed on this steak house. They are undeserved as this is a sub-standard steak house by any judgment.

  • Pros: ABSO f-----n LUTELY NOTHING!!!
  • Cons: Staff, Food Quality, Portions & Prices

one of my two favorite Steakhouses

by shert at Citysearch

As shameful as a chain restaurant is in NYC, this is one of my favorite steakhouses. The steak is delicious, the wine is wonderful. Plates are hot, got burnt once on my finger when I wasn't paying attention even after the waiter warned me it was hot.

  • Pros: Steak, wine
  • Cons: chain restaurant

Best Steak and Shrimp Cocktail Ever

by fbpc at Citysearch

I don't know how they do it, but they manage to have the best shrimp cocktail I've ever tasted. Huge shrimp served with 3 different sauces, each one delicious. Steak is great as well. And the pineapple vodka.

Classy Restaurant

by morganctnr at Citysearch

The food here is art and is meant to be savored over conversation with your companions. The staff was attentive, taking time to explain each item on the plate. However they did not seem to intrude upon the conversation. Water and wine glasses were refilled almost without being noticed.

....this restaurant requires budgeting ahead.

  • Pros: food',ambiance

Very, very good steak

by ksenis at Citysearch

We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were almost an hour late, because of traffic. Girls at the front desk were very understanding and sat us in less than 5 minutes. We ordered seafood soup, creamed spinach, 2 steaks, strawberry cheescake and 2 coffes. Everything was great. My husband's steak was very lean, because he likes it lean, I asked for steak with some fat and the waiteress recommended ribeye, and it was perfect. We only ate half of the spinach, because it was just too much. Didn't order any wine, just water. Total came to $160.00. I would definitely recommend this place. So far it is the best steak we ever had. Service was great. Place looks wonderfull.
