GREAT HOTEL

by fluffyfor at Citysearch

VERY CLEAN UP TO DATE ROOMS.GREAT VIEWS ON THE UPPER LEVELS.WAS ALSO VERY QUIET.THE PERSON WHO TALKED ABOUT THE MAIDS CALLING TO CONFIRM THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE DISTURBED,APPARENTLY DOESNT HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE WITH TRAVELING AND HOTELS.YOU ALWAYS LEAVE THE PHONE OF THE HOOK WHILE SLEEPING ANYWHERE IN HOTELS....PRO ACTIVE I ALWAYS SAY...;)

  • Pros: LOCATION
  • Cons: NO HABLA ENGLISH...MAIDS

Worst hotel. Stay SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

by Jim29 at Citysearch

I gave this hotel 2 chances to make me happy....they failed horribly both times. First time I went I had tickets to the Tony's. I locked them in the safe with my car keys and since the idiots there have the safe attached to the fridge at the bottom...It leaked water in to the safe nearly ruining my tickets. Also, this hotel must have some kind of policy on do not disturbs signs that has the maids knocking on your door when the sign is up. This is a true story...I had my "Do Not Disturb" sign up and housekeeping actually called me to verify that I did not want to be disturbed. Think about that for a moment. So the second time i stayed there I decided not to put anything in the safe. When I hung the "Do Not Disturb" sign this time they knocked on my door to make sure I really didn't want service. THIS PEOPLE ARE INCOMPETENT BEYOND MEASURE. Seriously folks, I'd recommend staying somewhere else. No late fare room service, the bar is DEAD and the foot traffic on the street is such that you can't negotiate to get a cab or to walk to the subway. I'd go to the Doubletree. Basically they have the same rates and the foot traffic is slower. You can also hail a cab easily because they're always driving by, unlike the Hilton where you have to catch a cab on 41st and construction makes that street totally dead. You can easily wait 20 to 30 mins for a cab there.

  • Pros: heh...they offer express checkout
  • Cons: too many to name. Seriously.

A popular upscale chain in the middle of the tourist district.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
It's easy to miss this Midtown hotel, set as it is amid the hubbub of busy 42nd Street, with its flashy lights, digital news tickers and Godzilla-sized TV screens. It is popular with the traveling business set and is usually sold out Monday through Thursday.

The Details
A quick elevator ride takes you to the front desk. Here the spacious lobby welcomes guests with a bar, restaurant and a great Manhattan view. This hotel has 444 rooms that include ten suites. All are stocked with the usual coffeemakers and ironing boards, as well as high-speed Internet access and MP3 players. Corporate guests appreciate the comprehensive business center. A nice touch is an in-room device that allows you to check out without having to stop in at the front desk.

Great hotel!!!

by shay7795 at Citysearch

I stayed at the hilton May 25-29,2005 the hotel is very nice inside and out. We arrived at 6:15 am and even though check-in was at 3:00 pm they allowed us to check in anyway since there were rooms that were ready. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and we had a geat view of the city and the Hudson River and the rooms are spacious. The hotel is in a great location close to subway, food, shopping and of course Times Square! I would absoulty stay at this hotel again!

  • Pros: location, staff, room w/ a veiw
  • Cons: none

Hilton Times Square

by firemanswife2 at Citysearch

We just returned from the Hilton Times Square. Though we weren't in the room that much, we liked the hotel a lot and would return there anytime. Our room was nice and clean. We had 2 doubles, a desk and a small sitting area. There was a coffee maker, nice art work (limited edition pieces), and paper each morning. We did not use room service or the hotel restuarant, but they looked good. The only thing we didn't like was the lobby was on the 22 floor so you had to change elevators to get to your room. The bell hops were a great help with luggage and taxi's.

  • Pros: Good location, Clean, Very helpful
  • Cons: lobby on 22nd floor, changing elevators

Stay here!

by jennymcp at Citysearch

This hotel has the perfect location for visitors to New York. Half a block from the Times Square subway station - from there you can easily travel anywhere in Manhattan. Yes, the rooms look like any other chain hotel, but they are large, clean, quiet and comfortable, with all the amenities and great views of Midtown and Times Square. The staff was great - very friendly and helpful. We travel to New York every year at Christmas time and will definitely stay there again.

  • Pros: Location, Staff, Comfort
  • Cons: None

I'll be back

by bswan82675 at Citysearch

I visited the city in August and after a lot of searching we chose this hotel. I am glad we did. Being from the South (Charleston) we are accustomed to friendliness, and the staff made us feel right at home. I have stayed many places but no where as friendly and helpful. the rooms were nice, included a safe, and a perfect location. I will definitely go back to see the city, and next time I do not have to search for a hotel
