Do not go there unless you couldn`t find the item anywhere else in NY
by sakkurt
The rudest people that I`ve ever seen in a store in NYC. It is not just one time that the sales people were rude, but everytime I go there, I want to scream like you are not Marc Jacobs, and not the designer of anything in there either. The last time I was there I was trying some shoes, and I had 3 shopping bags from another store. The older lady there just pushed my bags and told me if I could come in another time because they need to organize and it is hard when I try the shoes on with my shopping bags. I couldn`t believe what I heard!!!!!! It was a regular store hour with 1 other customer. There was another time when i asked for another color of the bag that I was wearing, the guy there said it is sold out. I was checking other bags there and another lady came in asked for the same bag to another salesperson. She said let me check and brought the bag from the back. I asked her and she brought me one, too. I wanted to strangle the guy, but didn`t say anything because I cannot lover myself to his level of rudeness!!!!!!!!! As much as I LOVE Marc Jacobs, I literally HATE that store.
- Pros: Nice selection of Marc by Marc Jacobs items
- Cons: Extremely rude and arrogant salespeople

"The salespeople need to realize that they aren't Marc Jacobs, they just happen to sell his clothes at his retail store." I can't agree more. The worst service ever. The sales people really had this attitude toward customers and it was not professional as salesrep, they should learn more about representing a brand, which does not mean looking CUSTOMERS down.
Terrible Service

Everyone, and I mean everyone, who works here is nasty.
I was ignored the first time I went.
The second time, I wanted to exchange a shirt and was interrogated as to my motives. It was t-shirt, I am not trying to pull one over on the guy- I can buy and sell him and all the t-shirts I want. It shouldn't be such a big deal. (BTW, I ended up buying all of them just to prove a point).
The store is always hot and the people always rude.

- Pros: None
- Cons: Service
Cute Stuff, Bad Service

the sales dude is hot...the one with the blue eyes and black hair...but they really need to just get regular cash registers
Great clothes, awful service

I am a longtime fan of the MARC by Marc Jacobs line. I was a loyal customer at the Boston store when I lived in Boston, and the staff there was always friendly, attentive and helpful. Wish I could say the same about the Bleecker store...
I've been to the store twice, both times on a less-busy weekday afternoon. Neither time was I greeted or acknowledged at any point. In fact, both times, the only attention I got was a salesguy saying "excuse me" as he pushed by with an armful of clothes. The salespeople were basically hanging out behind the counter complaining about their manager last time I was there. I felt invisible and uncomfortable, which is even more ridiculous if you consider I was wearing Marc by Marc shoes, bag and top- they should have spotted an easy commission!
Neither time did I try anything on- perhaps a salesperson would have warmed up to me then. But why bother- I can go to Barney's and see practically the exact same MbMJ collection with service that makes me want to stay and browse- and buy.
- Pros: beautiful clothes
- Cons: bad service
Supercool designer colonizes a Bleecker Street corner.

The Scene
Everybody hearts Marc. Now he's set up a mini-mall on the lovelier end of Bleecker, bringing a full line for men and his brilliant bridge line, Marc by Marc Jacobs, to these two adjacent storefronts and (further down the street) a shop devoted to accessories.
The Goods
Perhaps inspired by the alterna-preppy look sported by Spike Jonze, the menswear's full of simple separates: button-down shirts, perfectly-cut cords, jeans-style jackets of the softest moleskin in a muted rainbow of colors (olive, dusty blue, rust). There's even a smattering of boy-friendly accessories. As for the bridge line, it's just as stylish as its more high-priced sibling, with a vibe reminiscent of what you probably wore in high school, but with fashion-forward flair. Look for denim separates in non-traditional shapes (puffy sleeved coats and trenches), witty prints and kooky jewelry.
right on the marc

I admit it. I'm biased. I adore Marc Jacobs and everything he touches, from LV to his two namesake collections. Marc is definitely at home in the West Village. Twist of whimsy, edge, and glamour all rolled into one. I also live closeby and visit the store quite often. The service is fabulous and the staff is always helpful. For those who live farther away, it's definitely worth the trip, especially now that the Accessories store and the Men's store are close by.
It's all in the service

I actually prefer his signature line to the marc by mj line. But the store on Bleecker surpasses the signature store on Mercer ten-fold when it comes to friendliness and expertise. You actually feel wanted in the store, even if you're only there browsing.
- Pros: Service, Location
Beautiful clothing with a vintage twist
by style62601
Even though all of Marc Jacobs designs are just a tad too pricey for me, I must say he has the magic touch. Everything about his clothing is so unique. You will defintely agree when you visit the "Marc" store on Bleecker. The people aren't stuffy like expected and you can sense a East Village vibe when you walk in. If you want a holiday gift that radiates luxury yet uniqueness, ask for something by Marc Jacobs.
- Pros: unique designs, trendy, clothing is made well
- Cons: expensive
