Best Indian Restaurant in the City
by john10012 at Citysearch
Decor needs to be upgraded but the food is amazing!
- Pros: Amazing Paneer Dilruba
Definitely Going Back!
by MaxNY2323 at Citysearch
My wife and I met a few of our friends out for dinner and we decided to go for some Indian Food. I had been recommended this place by a few people and wanted to see why they loved this place so much.
We left the ordering to the waiter and he definitely did not dissapoint us. We started with a great round of tandoori kababs (absolutely amazing) followed by 3 great chicken dishes, a spicy but very tasty lamb dish. The nans were excellent!
Overall we were impressed with the restaurant. I also liked the fact that they had a nice beer and full bar selection. I tried a new beer called 1947 Premium Lager, never heard of it before but the waiter said it was a new beer and people liked it so decided to gave it a shot. My friend on the other hand stuck to his black label and soda. Overall a great night.
Definitely going back!
- Pros: Great Food

Bukhara Grill, the tagline says it all.. "INDIAN SPICE RAVE"
My GF and I dine at Bukhara often as she lives near it.
The lunch buffet is expensive but is deff worth it. We go often for lunch and the place is packed.
We have gone for dinner only a few times but the same great quality and service is given.
Bukhara is on my top 5 Indian places in NYC
- Pros: Food and Service
- Cons: $$$
AWESOME
by snikd at Citysearch
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED BUKHARA GRILL. IT WAS MIND BLOWING AND A GREAT PLACE FOR FAMILY DINNERS. I THOUGHT THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN NY. THE DECOR WAS GREAT, THE SERVICE WAS AWESOME, AND THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC. EVERY WEEKEND WE COME HERE TO ENJOY THE DELICIOUS MOUTHWATERING FOOD. THE FOOD WAS FRESHLY MADE AND YOU COULD WATCH THE CHEFS COOK THROUGH A GLASS WINDOW. THE WATERFALL IN THE BACK WAS NICE AND THE WOODEN CHAIRS MADE IT EVEN BETTER. THE TERRACE UPSTAIRS WAS GREAT AND A NICE PLACE TO HAVE FOOD THERE ON A NICE DAY. THERE WAS A PRIVATE PARTY ROOM. IT REMINDED ME BEING BACK HOME IN INDIA. THE SPICES WERE RICH IN FLAVOR AND THE BAR AND SERVICE WERE TREMENDOUS. LAST TIME I WENT THERE WAS A CELEBRITY HAVING DINNER THERE. THEY HAD A SPECIAL DISH CALLED DAL BUKHARA THAT WAS TASTEFUL AND MOUTHWATERING JUST HOW IT LOOKED AND TASTED. THIS RESTAURANT WAS OUTSTANDING, MIND BLOWING, AND TREMENDOUS RESTAURANT EVER!!! GO BUKHARA AND I HOPE THAT HIS RESTAURANT STAYS FOR CENTURIES!!!!! WWWoOOOwWWW!
- Pros: EVERYTHING
- Cons: NONE
Terribly disappointing
by bornandraisedherenyc at Citysearch
Watch out when you look at the menu prices. When the check comes and you ask why everything is so much more expensive, well, the menu's have the "old prices." What? Yes, the menu at the entrance and the menu that you'll order from has the "old prices." They won't budge and they will try to intimidate you if you argue with them. I eat out *all the time* and I can't ever remember being told after my meal that I'd been looking at "old menu prices," surprise! Not cool! The food really isn't that good, there are much better Indian restaurants in New York City and there are certainly much more honest and ethical establishments.
- Pros: Convenient location
- Cons: dishonest business practices
Tourist trap / overpriced - Food decent but nothing special
by normaldiner at Citysearch
Overpriced. The food was good, but nothing special. I can only assume from the neighborhood that this place is a tourist trap. There's not much else to say. The place was clean and the service was okay, but I expect these things at any place I eat.
Chicken in a curry sauce with basmati rice should not cost more than $30. At $15, I would say the food is good. At $32 I wondered if this chicken was fed caviar and foie gras in a suite at the Waldorf before it was butchered and prepared.
Indian food is great and there is a good amount of fun, trendy and delicious places to eat it in the city. I would not recommend this one.
- Pros: 1)I like Indian food 2)Country bear jamboree style menu's remind me of fond days at Chuck-E-Cheese
- Cons: Too expensive, not romantic, not special, bib's (go there and you'll see)
What a TOURIST-TRAP!
by andy10012 at Citysearch
I love Indian food, but this place is without a doubt NOT worth its money. The entree prices seem okay (although pricy for Indian food), but you'll get charged an additional $7 for rice with some frozen peas in it, and $5 for some bread. If you ask for a beer, you'll immediately get a large one, and be charged another $11.
The service was decent, but not very friendly at all (why would they be, they're focused on tourists that come here once in their lifetime).
I am afraid most of the positive reviews on this website are not from actual customers- way too flat out positive and just not accurate. Seriously, I ended up paying $55 for some chicken with rice and a beer. Are you serious!?
- Pros: The restrooms were clean
- Cons: Really bad value
Fantastic Indian!
by qtgurljny at Citysearch
This place has fantastice Indian food. The food is authentic and good. Drinks are okay, the garlic naan is excellent and comes out about 3X what a normal portion would be. The chicken Masala and Chicken vindaloo are great. Lamb varieties I wasn't as crazy about but then again I'm not that crazy about lamb. Everything fromt he waiter's garb to the copper cups scream authenticity and I love this place. The only thing is, do not sit in the front of the rest in the winter unless you would like to be a frozen over icicle.
Very Good,and Very Authentic

Bukhara Grill ( Indian Spice Rave) i have been dining at Bukhara for the past 5 years. Everything at BG is the best. I love the look of Bukhara, the wood look is beautiful. The service at Bukhara grill is very good and very helpful. The place is always packed but we always have great fast service. The food at Bukhara is to die for as it is just mouthwattering great. All the kababs and currie dishes are just awsome. I love eating the jumbo shrimps, mushrooms, and the lambchops. for dinner i love chicken makhani, dal bukhara, daibhangan, chicken vindaloo and much much more. Last year we had Bukhara grill cater my sisters wedding, The catering made the party as all our guest loved the food. Bukhara had many cusines at her wedding including Italian, Middle-Eastern, Chinese, and of course Indian. basically to me Bukhara grill is the best indian food out there. make reservations no matter what day you plan on going as they are always packed. and if you get sometime take pictures by the waterfall.
- Pros: food, service, everything
- Cons: its not by my house

by abhiy1 at Citysearch
Bukhara Grill is truly the Indian Spice Rave. Bukhara Grill is on of the most beautiful Indian Restaurant I have dined at. The wood decor is beautiful. A bunch of us went last week on Friday and it was packed. I would sugest making reservations. We did not make reservations and had to wait for a while but the hostess let us sit at the waterfall seating where we enjoyed some nice drinks. The waterfall seating was amazing as we took many pictures by it. We were taken up to the main dining room, the place was still paced. Our Waiter was very nice and helped us choose our apps. We orderd Hariyali chicken, mushrooms, mal mal kabab , Tandoori Shrimps, and lambchops all of them were verrry verrry goood so authentic. The Main Course was amazing as well as we had Chicken Makhani, Lamb Vindaloo,Kadai Paneer ,Kurkuri Bhindi and the famous Dal Bukhara along with bread. Everything was just awsome. the best indian food i have had. The Staff was very nice as the manager checked up on us and welcomed us and made us feel at home. I reccomened Bukhara Grill To Everyone as it truly is the most authentic Indian in the TriState
