WHAT A DEAL

by rheddwoman at Citysearch

This place is central to everything...Had a great time..The front desk staff in the evening was great..They gave great reccomendations of things in the area..Which was a relief beacuse we went all over the city.NOW the room size was a lil dissapointing..but i got what i paid for which was next to nothing..If you are planning to stay 1 night the cheap room is NOT the way to go..BUT if u r staying

for a couple of nights, shell out the big bucks for the nicer room..

The breakfast was actually very impressive and it's FREE...Overall I had a great time and would be returning VERY SOON..

  • Pros: Great service, CLEAN ROOMS..A BIG PLUS ..and very central

Horrible service

by KatNYC10016 at Citysearch

Seriously this place is terrible. Look at the reviews, hardly anything positive about the actual hotel and nothing at all written in well over 2 years. I can tell you why. The service is so bad, I would never be a repeat customer. I am so done with this hotel and am going to go back to the W Union Square - regardless of how much it costs, it's worth it... the Park South Hotel is not.

  • Pros: Its located well
  • Cons: The service is so incredibly bad. The bar is loud. The staff is rude.

Relaxed comfort and style in a convenient--and quiet--part of town.

by Sandra Ramani at Citysearch

The Scene
With 141 well-sized rooms, including standards, doubles, junior suites, queens and suites, this boutique effectively blends modern convenience and design with a warm, old-school vibe. Housed in a restored historic building, the hotel offers attractive common areas, including an excellent bar/lounge and restaurant, and a pleasant, knowledgeable staff. The large framed black-and-whites of old New York and familiar landmarks add to the charm. If Sinatra had needed internet service and a free DVD library, this is where he would have stayed.

The Details
Guests enjoy complimentary continental breakfast, unlimited high-speed Internet access and a DVD library. Room amenities include cable TV with DVD player, hair dryers, ironing boards and a safe. The hotel also offers full-service concierge, express check-out, room service and turn-down service, in addition to a fitness center and business center.

Great place to stay!

by sind7 at Citysearch

We really enjoyed the neighborhood, close to lots of things, restaurants, bars, the train, etc. Really nice room, bigger than what we'd expected. Clean and very comfortable bed. Good service and I'd definitely recommend this place to couples and families.

A Really NICE Hotel

by honestopinon at Citysearch

Out of all the choices for hotels in NYC, the Park South is strongly recommended. It has a lovely lobby and good consistant service. It is not ultra trendy, but not stuffy either. Very clean and very affordable. We paid $225 dollars for room and they upgraded us to a suite "just because it was available" It's not the coolest, but I would return because of the value

  • Pros: BLACK DUCK restaurant, front desk staff, quality beds

Definition of mediocrity

by bevb at Citysearch

I'm embarassed and regretful of booking my guests into the Park South Hotel. At $280, the executive suites were lousy. The staff were consistently rude, hurried and impatient. The breakfast was shabby but the Black Duck (the restaurant) is very good for dinner. My guests had advance reservations for smoking rooms only to be checked into non-smoking rooms. They were moved around the entire hotel to be accomodated.

For more seasoned travellers, they don't even have a half day rate like the Hyatt. If your flight leaves in the evening, you're expected to get out by noon or stay and pay for an extra night.

They're understaffed. The poor doorman was perspiring, exhausted from solely carrying luggage the entire day.

People are better off paying slightly more to stay at hotels that provide exactly what they claim to.

  • Pros: Good rate for NYC
  • Cons: Rude Service, Sloppy Management

The best boutique secret

by rstrickland at Citysearch

The Park South is the only place we stay when we come to the city. This hotel has figured out how to marry ambience, service and amenities to consistently provide a refreshing experience, all at a price well below other venues of comparable quality. The restaurant menu is outstanding top to bottom and the service is solid.

This is our home when we are in New York.

  • Pros: Great Rooms/Amenities, Excellent Restaurant, Attentive Service

Great find!

by bruce2112 at Citysearch

We spent two nights at the Park South. Rooms are extremely comfortable (but not much of a view). Great beds, triple-sheeted and very comfortable. Nice amenities. Friendly staff. Good restaurant/bar. Nice location near many shops and restaurants. High speed internet access was a plus. Very nice continental breakfast. We will definitely consider staying there again.

  • Pros: Comfortable rooms, Friendly staff, Good Bar/Restaurant

secret spot in manhattan

by massey at Citysearch

I had a great stay at the Park South hotel. The rooms are very nice and very clean, not much for a view, but the warm, friendly and fun staff was what made my stay a wonderful experience. The food in the hotel restaurant was great I cant wait to return abd dine there again. I love the high speed internet access in the rooms ( it was Free). They do a great job and i recommended it to all my friends.

Highly recommend this hotel!

by hotel2 at Citysearch

i was so impressed by how friendly the staff was - even though it was my first time there I felt very much at home. Continental breakfast was excellent & exceeded my expectations. It was a great way to start the day and the location enabled me to walk to my morning meetings. Free internet access in my hotel room was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel!
