The title says it all!! This spot s my favorite place to go after visiting Prospect Park. A cozy place, with a nice interior layout makes it inviting, while an attentive staff keeps the drinks comin'. They always remember my drink of choice too, (No I'm not one for a double mocha-latte frappuccino with a shot of hazelnut) Hot coffee and cream. Simple, but effective. I love it here, and the friendly baristas always have a smile!

I live in the neighborhood and find that there are only a handful of nice coffee spots to just hang out in. This Tea Lounge appears like the perfect place but as you place an order you realize the customer service is not worthy of the tip jar that they keep at the counter. If you order a beverage other that standard coffee or tea, you may end up with a specialty drink that is more like bitter water with some foam and fancy cocoa dustings on top. But if you really need a place to use for working on a computer or just a change from your home office and you can get beyond the rude, lackluster staff then take advantage of the free Wi-Fi. It's also quiet enough to have a conversation in.

Pros: Free Wi-Fi, decent place for conversing, good tea variety

Cons: Customer service, specialty drinks, dry pastries

The Tea Lounge is a must visit when in NY. I was fortunate enough to have stayed within about a 1 minute walk from it the last time I was there. The atmosphere is great. The coffee is great. It is a little pricey, but what isn't in NY. Also, the staff could be considered a little on the rude side, but again, this is NY. I think everything about the Tea Lounge is great and it really gives the feel of a true NY hotspot. Don't miss it!

Pros: Great little hang out and is a must see when in NY

Cons: A little pricey and staff could be considered rude, I just think it is a part of NY life! I love it

I've been here many times, mostly for the decor and to avoid going to Starbucks. Their muffins are great but surprisingly, I've always been incredibly let down by the drinks. The cafe latte tastes like hot water with milk and the chai tea I had there was so bitter I couldn't finish it. Probably the worst coffee and tea I've had outside of a diner. Also very expensive.

Pros: atmosphere, pastries/muffins

Cons: coffee, tea, price

Rude service. Smiles and friendliness don't come with the 3.50 iced coffee--that tastes like diluted mud from nearby prospect park or the 6.00 beers. But there are comfortable couches, always space for a seat and a relaxing atmosphere.

Pros: Couches, space, relaxing

Cons: rude service, bad coffee, exspensive

Weak, mediocre coffee, but maybe that's what I get for ordering coffee at a place specializing in tea. And don't plan on getting any work/reading done before toddlers start throwing Cheerios at the other end of the couch.

Pros: ginger cookies, couches

Cons: packed, chaotic, loud, surly counter girls, expensive!

I left my power cords for my laptop and called to see if anyone had turned them in. The staff person was rude, wouldn't check and said she didn't know anything about it. I walked down 5 minutes later and found my cords sitting on the table in plain sight. It ruined this nice place for me. Yes, its overpriced and yes, definitely overcrowded, but it was a nice place to sit and work and this obnoxious counter girl completely ruined it for me.

Pros: drinks

Cons: , rude , rude

Over-crowded and over-priced. Rude staff....I mean shockingly rude. I was a repeat customer and used to go there to grade my papers from school on a regular basis....but I guess being a courteous, paying customer doesn't matter when you get in the way of the hipper-than-thou baristas. The drinks are good...but not worth the price (I mean really...what is this a Starbucks??). There are no healthy snacks...I mean would it kill anybody to stock some whole-grain bagels or bran muffins??

Pros: turkish latte

Cons: , rude staff, no healthy snacks

I really enjoyed the Tea Lounge; it's a wonderful alternative to over-priced, over-stylized Starbucks down the street. Plus they serve beer, wine, cocktails, soups and delicious giner cookies. This is a great place to go to relax and hang out with a group of friends with diverse drink tastes.

Pros: drink selection, located near 7th!, reasonably priced

I am a Park Slope resident and a regular at the tea lounge. I find the staff to be very pleasant and amiable and they serve (by far) the best and most affordable latte in the area. I've earnestly tried other places but I just adore the tea lounge and can't seem to break away. I can't believe I am posting this, because as a regular I am only making it harder on myself!

Pros: love the staff, yummy latte, comfortable atmospher

Cons: errr...none
